Hi Ben Your still at it !!! Good Show ! Wow on the Cold Start of your tractor ! That's hard on the engine ! Hopefully it came with a Block Heater !! And you just forgot to plug it in !!!!😊 Merry Christmas
@OGAOutdoors12 сағат бұрын
Yes sir I’m still here just a little slow with the videos. I’m not sure what it has but when it’s cold it counts down several seconds before it wants you to start it. It had warmed up quite a bit. A new battery would help but I’m getting all I can out of the original almost 7 years old. I have kept a battery tender on it a lot the last few years seems to really help. Thanks for watching.

@kendriedger15112 сағат бұрын
@OGAOutdoors When it's doing the count down it's probably heating the glow pugs for heating the fuel injectors ! A block heater is usually in the engine block and actually goes into the coolant of the engine ! It has a electrical cord on it that you plug into your electrical of your property ! It will warm up a cold engine in 2 to 4 hours ! It will be toasty warm like a July summer day !!😁

My favorite two saw combo on a budget is the Echo CS-590 with a 4920/501P. A bigger budget, Husqvarna 562xp and 550xp. Either setup will cut everything an entry-level firewood cutter needs to cut.

I've slowed down firewood for personal reasons. I'll get back to it as it is the best therapy I know, but only if it is on my terms and not outright production. Gotta be able to do a personal best once in a while to motivate me. For now, getting my mojo back. Hopefully God sends some form of guidance. Hopefully my ears are open when said guidance comes.

Those big bin deal doesn’t work in the south east ,,,,, the only reason it works for Chris in the wood yard is because he’s surrounded buy huge fields and they have a bunch of wind ,,,, in the south with pines blocking the winds and humidity to 1000 it’s not going to dry as fast

I run a conveyor that loads Dino bags that hold a face cord. I built the rack that holds the Dino bags from 2x6s and 4x4s with ropes coming down and hooks holding bags upright. I set them in a field for a year with tractor and then I dump them in dump trailer to make delivery. Youv got a tractor which gives you alot of options.
@OGAOutdoorsАй бұрын
Sounds like you’ve got it going on. If you don’t mind me asking how much do those bags cost? Thanks for stopping by.
@jdubbink98Ай бұрын
Hi Ben! If you want to avoid stacking in the self-checkout totes, I assume using 2 totes per pickup is ok? Could you use a buckle tie down or some bungees to keep the wood from falling out of the hole and the customer could simply take the straps off as they need to bend into the crate for the bottom sticks. 2 toss-filled totes 2/3rds full has got to be close to a 3rd of a cord.
@OGAOutdoorsАй бұрын
I like the idea of the straps holding the wood I may have to give that a try. Yeah two totes tossed in 2/3s is pretty much exactly a third of a cord. I may go back to that I just didn’t like the wasted space.
@haggetthillАй бұрын
I don’t sell wood, but when I split mine I stack directly from the splitter to the tote. It takes a bit longer, but works for me.
@OGAOutdoorsАй бұрын
I have done that in the past. I don’t have enough totes though to replace the empty ones. Maybe I can find a deal on more. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Ben. I'm one of the weird guys that enjoys stacking my wood. Probably because I'm only doing 20 cords a year.
@OGAOutdoorsАй бұрын
Yes you are weird lol. I still stack plenty just wish I didn’t have to. Hopefully going forward I can figure out what works best. Take care.
@DanielAtkinsFirewoodАй бұрын
The stacking vs piles topic depends on the region one is in. Here in the Pacific NW, fir and Hemlock would mold quickly in piles with our damp climate where, in other places, piles piles works as the air is not as damp.
@OGAOutdoorsАй бұрын
For sure I could imagine most everything would struggle in piles with your weather. Mine should be fine I’m just struggling with how to measure it out from the piles. Trying to work less not stacking but I may have to work more stacking to measure out of the piles.
@RangerRage69Ай бұрын
I started piling my wood too. Decided to build my bins with hog fence on the sides supported by T posts and pallets on the bottom.i can go higher with the hog fence than just a loose pile. It’s a little hard to tell how much wood you have though. I figure about 125% of cord volume when in a pile.
@OGAOutdoorsАй бұрын
Sounds like a good plan with the fence. I have enough room I’m just going to use the rows. We just make this stuff up as we go. If the weather doesn’t cool off it will all just sit in the pile another year. Who knows what I’ll find by then.
@geogesterrett6391Ай бұрын
180cuft per cord loose thrown calculate the volume best you can. Rectangular (LxWxH) then add the triangular prism on top LxWxH/2 will give you a decent idea.
@CliffsideStablesАй бұрын
And it has been my experience with the 50+ IBC cages I have that those that have six horizontal bars are the 330 gallon size and will fit 1/3 of a cord when you stack the firewood in two rows and drop small splits down between the two rows. Tim in northern TN
@davidedwards3734Ай бұрын
