Very interesting singing! May I ask what is the writing? is it a form of "music notation" ? Would it be possible to have some information? I do research about the mongol long song, and the yan yeg writing, and this look quite similar ^^; My curiosity is quite high hehe :D

Hey George, the old link to the paschal canon doesn't work, I think the Antiochian Music website was updated. Is there any way you could link the byz notation! Merci ktir <3 Have a blessed Lent!
@elijahammon6 ай бұрын
Hello George, do you have the notation for this either in Byzantine or Western? Thank you and Blessed Lent.
@GeorgeZain6 ай бұрын
This was not chanted with music. It was ‘free-chanted’ in a mode called kliton which is the same mode the Epistle/Gospel are usually read. It’s very rare that you see Kliton notated. There is notation that exists for this hymn chanted in Plagal 2nd. In the Antiochian tradition, we chant it kliton during the procession with the Cross and its normal Pl.2 version during the dismissal of the faithful. In the Greek tradition they usually just chant it Plagal 2nd. That is my understanding.
