@tigerrider007 Ай бұрын
Hey there, I'd say an XL at MINIMUM, think about layering up and if you wear it when it cools down then maybe an XXL might be a better option. So, for wearing just a Tshirt underneath an XL might work depending on your build. If you're fairly thin to average build then the only issue might be sleeve length since you're taller than I am. I hope this helps you.

Hi Joe, nice review, thanks for posting it - however I have a different question - I also have a Tiger and noticed you have a nice little box on the rear rack of your bike. Can I ask what brand it was and does it fit on the Triumph rack or did it need an adapter plate? I'm looking for something smaller for when I don't need my full size top box. Thank you in advance!
@tigerrider007
@tigerrider007 3 ай бұрын
@MrHartlas this little case is actually a Pelican case that I got from one of my friends. I think it was used for photography equipment but he converted it to a top box because of its perfect size and waterproof ability. He basically matched up the holes with what the bike has as stock, drilled holes in the case to match, then added his own 1 inch high metal tubes as risers, so screws will fit through and into the bike's threads. These metal risers give the box the support needed. There are washers involved as well to spread out any weight issues on the inside of the box. I usually carry the Triumph tool kit, tire pressure gauge, a multitool, a few zip ties, and my tiny charging cord bag for my Cardo on a daily basis. This little box has held up to some off roading as well with light cargo. I've even forgotten to attach the latches on 2 rides off road rides and all my crap came out leaving a hundred yard trail of maps, baseball hat, tools, and snacks. In summation, you can make one if you find the right size box and hardware. Hope this helps, ride safe on that Tiger.

@@nateryan7041 depending on how much room you'd like to layer during colder rides. I get cold easy so I leave a little room for a couple layers. So, based on your size I'd think about ordering one size larger as a precaution. I'd rather have a tad loose than a tad tight. It is a bit of a gamble all around but you try to minimize the risk with RST and ordering from overseas. This particular suit was extremely stiff and sturdy, more so than Klim. It takes a long while to break that material in to the super comfortable level. If you get the correct fit, and are happy with the price, and the safety features of this kit then it's a winner, just be ready to deal with the other side of that coin, stiffness and comfort. Since returns are really out of the question, there's always eBay or ADV rider. Hope this helps.

Hello. this new tiger1200 rally pro is spectacular. I'm waiting for deliver it to me and I wanted to ask you one thing about stock tires; do they have good grip on both dry and wet roads? I have read some complaints about the bad grip in the fold.
@tigerrider007
@tigerrider007 2 жыл бұрын
I can't comment about wet roads since we didn't have any to ride on, but dry roads we had. The bike performed well with the Karoo Street tires even in some twisties. I did notice a pretty loud howl tire noise as certain speeds due to the scoops on this tire. I also took the Tiger down some gravel roads and it did fine. I think as an owner you have to get used to how the bike behaves in certain conditions, tires affect this behavior as well. I can say, that those Karoo Street tires may not like tar snakes since I had two little unexpected shifts on the road. I've never really been a huge fan of Karoos. I'd probably put a set of Michelin Anakee Adventure tires on this 1200. Sorry I couldn't answer the wet roads question.

Hi Scott, i had to find a video i could comment on. but the comment isn't about this video, Its about your RST suit. how is it holding up? Im in a toss up between a REVIT sand 4, and the RST one you purchased. I've had many RST products, they have always held up to hard use well. I'm curious if this is still the case? Any feedback would be appreciated, Thanks
@tigerrider007
@tigerrider007 2 жыл бұрын
Matthew, the brands you mention are top notch when it comes to stability and construction, after owning both. I crashed in a set of RST Adventure gear and walked away with some bruising. Value wise I'd give the nod to RST but only slightly. I think it comes down to budget and fit for the decision. I found that the Rev'it products fit me better than the RST gear. I'm taller and leaner so some say that's considered "European built", but whatever. I also found the RST gear a bit stiffer and requires more break-in time to get it to the level of Rev'it right off the rack. So, I currently own some Rev'it Sand 4 gear and will keep this until I retire from riding. I hope this helps.
@MattFromDaNorth

@@tigerrider007 Thanks for the prompt reply. I've had RST in the past as mentioned historically held up well, Your feedback is very helpful as I've never ran Revit' gear, and for me free movement (mobility) is as much a safety feature as protection. I will check out my local shop and check the fit on the Revit stuff before I place an order. I recently have been riding with KLIM gear, and while feature filled it never stops being "crunchy" and stiff for lack of a better term. 2 years and its just not any better., I'm done with it, its great stuff but I tired of feeling like I'm wearing the packaging of a plastic toy.

ggcortinaa, I did manage to get my Cardo Packtalk Bold installed and it works. The installation process was not as easy as my Shoei Neotec but with patience I got it in. You do have some small hurdles, one, the cheek pads are easy to pull out but not as easy to put back in when you have the speakers in the cutouts, two, I chose a boom mic due to the internal sun visor slide mechanism and its audio quality. I had to mount the base ahead of the slider, then positioned the boom mic accordingly inside the helmet and taped it with electrical tape. I'm no mechanic so if I can do it, anyone can. I went for a ride after install and listened to my music on my apple phone, so the next test is actually talking to one of my riding buddies. Here's the issue, I'm not familiar with a Cardo Slim. I assume you could probably install it if I can do a Packtalk Bold. The jacket I'm wearing is my summer choice here in Georgia, a hi-viz Klim Induction jacket. I hope this helps.
