I'm a recent subscriber. I found your workbench series and stayed for pieces like this. Well done! Looks like that bench has seem some miles since you built it. Anything you would change with 4 years' experience on it?

There’s a few things. I’d make the tops of the dogs a little thicker, and I’d make a few small changes to the wagon vise design, but other than that that workbench is everything I wanted

Your mic is fine. And I love the apron. Mine saved me from getting stabbed in the belly the other day.

Not a bad video. Voice over sounds like a Darth Vader wanna be. Little work, and you'll be in the money

Awesome build. I've also been slowly replacing my house furniture with stuff I made. It's been fun to do.

Do you really need that apron
@vanvleetwoodworking11 күн бұрын
Some people like aprons, some don’t. I myself go back and forth but now mostly wear one because it keeps a lot of dust off of me and hold various items like pencils, chalk and dust collection remotes. It also keeps dust out of my pants pockets.
@EastOakWoodworking11 күн бұрын
Need, no, but they’re useful and keep the dust down when I go back in the house

Nice work! Have thought of doing the same - what kit did you use for the frame?
@EastOakWoodworkingАй бұрын
I just added this link to the description too. It’s a Vivo frame. We tested them at work and they worked great. amzn.to/4gzwYCl

That is great desk and some fine woodworking. IMHO that track saw cut would be much better if you buy good blade for your circular saw and not use the ones that came with it. It is more up to the blade than the saw.
@EastOakWoodworkingАй бұрын
I agree with you there, but in this case the splinter guard was worn out and left a gap between it and the blade.

Grandpa Troske would be so impressed with the woodworker you've become! I love your work and am so grateful for what you did for me!

This is off topic. But can you tell us what the flooring is in your shop? Is it pads? I can't even see the seams if it is. Are they very sponge? Is it hard to sweep dust on them?
@EastOakWoodworkingАй бұрын
It’s a rubberized gym floor padding. This type is pretty stiff compared to others I’ve seen. It works great and is easy to clean. The only downside is heavy machines / tool boxes don’t roll around on it easily. There’s just enough give to make that a little difficult, but it comes up easy if I need to.

Hi Seth, Great video and desk build. I like the design and functionality of the desk which will serve the owner for generations to come. Good to see dogs in your video as well, just lets us share your world a bit more than the furniture alone. Look forward to the next video. Regards James One Handed Maker

Thanks James. The dogs usually avoid the shop when I’m out there working, or I’d have them out there all the time

I like seeing the mistakes people make, and how they fix them. Is there a reason you went with epoxy over something like woodglue + sawdust?
@EastOakWoodworkingАй бұрын
The original glue up was all epoxy for the open time, so the joints were already covered in epoxy. Wood glue just wouldn’t have worked after that.

I cringed starting at 2:18...no push stick and hand inches away from the blade. Yeah it's a SawStop but still sets a poor example for newbies with conventional TS's that can remove your fingers in the blink of an eye.
