Nice progress video, well done. I’m getting envious of your bench. 🙂 I really need to clear my space and start building my own.

from Japan. I've watched a few videos, but please listen to your honest impressions. I like woodworking DIY and it doesn't look like I'm working. I'm working with extravagant equipment, but my eyes aren't shining. Although it has been viewed many times, it feels unreasonable. I really envy the equipment. Since it is Google Translate, it may not be translated correctly.

Why the leg vise and not just another Twin Turbo? I've been considering the leg vise. I like the speed or the Benchcrafted leg vise, and I don't need a ton of clamping for my front vise. I already have the 14" Twin Turbo.
@EastOakWoodworking3 жыл бұрын
Just personal preference. If I had to build it over, I might go with another twin turbo vise. The leg vise is faster, but not by much. The real advantage is that it is deeper, but I’m not sure if that makes it the “clear winner” of the two or not.

so nice! thanks for sharing. Do you think that with 12 bessey k body clamps and 6 other standard clamps I could the the glue up without having to insert diminos ?
@EastOakWoodworking4 жыл бұрын
That’s pretty close to what I had. I had 14 total parallel clamps and a handful of F clamps. Should be do-able

What kind of block plane is that? You can clean rebates, tenons, etc... with it correct?

It’s a rabbeting block plane. Extremely useful for fine tuning joinery

Thanks Brian! I’m hoping I’ll have it fully finished here real soon. There was a delay in shipping the tail vise, but it sounds like it’s shipping this week. Then I’ll finally be able to instal it and call this one done.

Hi nice workbench! I’m inspired to do this, I’m on mortising and tenon process now but I do it manually by hammer and chisel, just want to know what is the gap of your dog holes on legs and on wood top? Thanks alot
@EastOakWoodworking4 жыл бұрын
I use 3/4” dog holes. The bench dogs also have a 1 1/2” “top”

Small tip: When doing a glue up that big, sprinkle a bit of table salt on the glue before joining and it will keep them from sliding. The salt dissolves eventually into the joint and does not affect the strength of the joint.
