I've studied this since it came out... the only criticism is that "as the progression gets more involved, so should your soloing"... not necessarily true... less notes is more digestible for the average audience... take out the fluff... play the melody first.

Hmm, don't know about the rest of you, C- in the Real Book to me is Cminor. - = minor, + = aug, 0= diminished, I don't know how to make the 0 with a slash for min7b5. Fine player, but from the git, he's calling minor chord symbols dominant. The fake book would just say C7 for a dom 7, CΔ7 for a Major 7, Cdim or C0 for a diminished, Calt for a b5#5, b9#9 (players choice) and so on.

I LOVE THIS VIDEO! I've been wondering what's the best way to create the Octave for Super Colossal and this helped. Also, the exact way how Joe plays The Crush of Love, little corrections I can make to sound more accurate. Thanks for this video! I have the Satchurator finished product. So it's cool to see the prototype there. My favourite distortion pedal.

TRM notes 15:04 playing a F (major) pentatonic ver a C7 chord 15:29 playing a Bb pentatonic major over C7 These are all in the key of F “every key center has three major pentatonics in it” for C major, it’s F major G major and C major 21:06 so is he just harmonizing the F major scale with arpeggios? G minor Bb major 7 E minor 7 flat 5 He says he is choosing the arpeggios based on each individual note of the C7 chord Come back to 18:53 and especially 23:48

Love Satch he's SO GREAT HE'S actually the GREATEST instrumentalist of all time. I love VIA & to each there own but Satch has the ear candy you don't get bored with & change the SONG. Yes VIA knows his shit & has great stuff but Satch for me has so many songs I can enjoy WITHOUT skipping the song. But as a GUITAR player I suck & can't play close to what they do but I can appreciate like the rest & throw in my bad horsie mouth which is very bad ass😁😁😁

LOL he's an excellent songwriter and he plays to suit the song. "What Breaks a Heart" "Belly Dancer" "Time" "Lords of Karma" It's all about the melody and the progression. The shredding just pays the bills.
