Whitney was a product of Aretha, Her mother, Patti, Dione, etc….. wit that said her studying them all and creating her own sound using a bit of all of them, and having a great voice made her great. Her downfall sadly were just the drugs. She’s great I’m sure she’d be unstoppable if drugs weren’t involved. Whitney was able to pull off belts, agility, soft smooth, silky sounds.

The thing is, most singers tend to flatten and 'headen-out' out their mixed voice when reaching higher notes. This means switching from a more chesty to heady mix. Meanwhile, instead of switching to a lighter mix, Ailee sustained a CHESTY-MIXED G5 (which is technically upper mixed notes) with vibrato, which shows how controlled she is. Chest-resonant mixes are mixed voices but have more chest to head ratios. Ailee's technique was amazing and she herself, is a smart vocalist. She knows what will cause her voice to strain, thus her ability to retain a chesty-mixed G5 without having to switch for a lighter mix is insane. This also showcases her vocal stamina as well as how LARGE her vocal range is. Despite being a more heavy, chest-resonant and darker soprano than most other female K-pop idols, she is still able to support and resonate high notes that some other lighter Soprano idols can't. I can hear light tension, but it wasn't too strained. Genuinely one of the best K-Pop vocalists to ever roam the industry.
