Today is December 31, 2024, and John would have been 81 years old today! Happy Birthday, John!! I feel so fortunate that I got to see you many times in concert in southern California. I am very grateful that we can still re-live your wonderful concerts and TV specials here on KZbin. Thank you to John's children (his estate) for maintaining this website, and also to the other John Denver fan and tribute KZbin channels that help to keep his music alive!!

I was born the year this album and the special were released. This record was played every Christmas growing up. Then I grew up and had three kids of my own. My middle child is my only son. I didn’t name him Zachary because of this song, but I sang this to him every year at Christmas-time, with tears from nostalgia of my own childhood and the full circle moment of my son’s childhood occurring. He is now grown (20) and this was the first Christmas he hasn’t lived at home. I just realized I didn’t get to play/sing this to him, so came here to find it to send to him. I know it is cliche, but I love him (and my girls) more than words allow. “Merry Christmas, little Zachary Merry Christmas, everyone” -2024 (Thank you Mr. Denver for this contribution to our lives! RIP)
