Yeah there totally drivable on the street on this block. Being cast you don't have to pre heat like a billet block and it has minimal shape change.

If the gearbox has a good cooler and the fluid is well kept and not abused they hold strong power. Main reasons they let go is if the torque reduction between gear changes are not set up.

I just bought an RX-8 last year and it's the most fun car I've ever owned and I've owned over 13 cars... It's worth the required maintenance.... There is actually an extreme value in having an RX-8.... And you could put a 3 or 4 rotor motor in there.... With a turbocharger... Huge potential... And it'll handle better than a hellcat which doesn't require much

you can use the Supra Kit. Only thing that needs changing is the gearbox mount. Just needs modify the bolt holes

More then open to talking about why we swapped it to 8HP. aa80e is a grate gearbox all round holds good amount of power and will shift amazing under full load full power. But driving around town the gearbox control was never developed enough to make it smooth and soft where the 8HP and CAN TCU is amazing at both
