I recently signed on the dotted line for a Limited. I probably won’t see delivery until March. I’m 68 years old and a very gentle driver. I test drove one before I bought and it’s light years ahead of my 2018 Honda CR-V. I sincerely hope that my new car will be just what I needed. I don’t drive like a NASCAR racer and 0-60 in 7 seconds is so much better than my 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass which took nearly 20 seconds to reach 60!

I couldn't disagree more about the interior. It doesn't come close to other luxury brands. The biggest feature Mazda is missing is the digital cockpit. It's 2025 and for a vehicle not to have a digital cockpit is criminal. For Christ's sake even Cadillac now has them is putting them in. Another aspect of luxury is detail, detail, detail. When you look at the interior of a Mazda all you see is a steering wheel a few buttons and a very tiny digital screen. Look at the interiors of Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Acura, Genesis. Those SCREAM luxury just by how the interiors look. I never understood how Mazda dares to claim luxury. I never thought I would say this, but even the interiors of the new Toyota models are way more luxurious looking.

Ungainly design? I like the '25. Certainly better looking than the Rav4 which genuinely fits the word "ungainly".

Ok. So i watched until the end to give you and the video a fair chance. This feels... Lazy. Like you could do 1000x better but chose not to. Every point seemed shallow and some seemed poorly represented. I have test driven one and i fell in love. Im planning on buying one The automotive market atm is a fustercluck with everything being overpriced and of poor quality. I came to your video wanting to know if there were serious glaring issues that perspective buyers would need to know. I know you can do better, and i look forward to your future videos

I’m a former Honda and Toyota owner, really like both. But I had always wanted to try Subaru’s AWD and bought an ‘01 Forester which had overheated. I overhauled its engine on my own and fell in love with the car. Then bought an ‘05 Outback XT which currently has 237K miles on it and it’s still running perfectly! I also have a ‘23 Forester premium which I totally love, amazing car, has everything I need plus its awesome AWD. There’s only one thing I would change, that stupid whining CVT for a true planetary gear transmission. Other than that, Subaru makes awesome cars, and it actually beat Honda & Toyota recently.

Subaru should have been included here.

I love the Forester and Crosstrek, but maybe all the cracked windshields and eyesight issues will start affecting their reliability rankings.

Which other earlier year cx5 has NATURAL ASPIRATED NON TURBO engine, with the automatic transmission? I wish they would have a RWD suv too, but I dont think so.

Powertrain is powerful compared to the last 2.5 4 banger. Nissan has remedied the early model bearing issue and the new CVT-X is all new and far better than the last troublesome CVT. This is a quiet, smooth riding suv with a far more luxurious interior, mostly in the platinum edition, than anything in this class. It’s apparent this reviewer either doesn’t do his homework or is somehow connected monetarily to a competing company.

what a joke! The Q5 is a great suv and reliable too! That 2.0T is the little engine that could and I mean really could. This things is outright pretty fast and it is refined too. WTH is he talking about

Why do you have background "music" while your are speaking. That makes no sense.

This review is off-base. I just bought a '25 NX350h after owning a 2022 for almost three years. Much more reliable than German cars. This is nothing more than an ad for BMW.

Mazda has great styles, gorgeous colors, Bose Sound System with selector wheel, luxurious interiors, great handling, and is sportier and classier looking than the Accord, Civic, and Corolla. All of that is a winner. You can get lane departure warning to make up for blind spots in Mazdas. However, if you want more space get a larger SUV like the CX-9 that is great for tall people. Shorter people would probably prefer the Subaru Cross Trek or Impreza that are smaller SUVs and Hatchbacks like the CX-5.

No hybrid and no CVT rubbish is a plus not a minus. LOL, who would buy this for towing? Horses for courses. As a second car for the wife, there is plenty of room for the groceries. This is not a grand tourer. Infotainment, I could do without it altogether. A few hundred dollars and put up with garbage front wheel drive when you can have AWD? You are having a hard time finding deal breaker faults. I would put Mazda's build quality, reliability and driving pleasure way in front of similarly priced competitors.

CX-5 Akera (top spec in Australia) Turbo owner here - bought it SPECIFICALLY for engine and gearbox combo as I like a car with a bit of power and real automatic - no CVT or DSG. $56,000 AUD, roughly $35,000 USD. Classy, premium look and feel inside (and outside): Napa leather, heated and cooled front seats (heated outboard rears), Bose stereo, HUD... No massive screens or hard plastics... Use only 98 octane fuel (premium/highest octane in Australia). NO OTHER car at similar size/money comes close to it. Period.

I’m on my second CX five and I study cars five days a week and test drive everything, the CX five is an incredible vehicle ,extremely well priced, reliable and handles like a sports car. There’s nothing that made me want to go to Toyota or Honda or Subaru even for that matter, even though I had three Subaru prior.

The cvt is good you dont need turbocharging . Hired one in NZ . 5 people and the cargo area to the roof and it returned 7.5 litres /100 at hwy speeds and overtook efortlessly .
