Did you use the first generation HR-V specifications? The 2023-X are different dimensions and it's very roomy inside. The rear door doesn't open very wide, but that's about the only loosing point on passenger room. The new HR-V is also an IIHS Top Safety Pick +. The Crosstrek is good, but it's one step lower at the Top Safety Pick (no +).

Reasons to avoid the HRV: 1. Sluggish acceleration 2. Uncomfortable front seats 3. Cvt transmission isn't reliable 4. Mediocre gas mileage 5. Lacking a hybrid powertrain 6. Ugly appearance.
