Hi there😏, In 2001 "the rising sun" was on tv and in the tv-magazine was a photo of him. I had heard of certain actors names, recognized their faces, but other than that never thought their lives should be "my affaire". Never bought tabloids, so knew nothing about actors/actresses. Incl. him. Before going forward I rented quite a few movies depending on the advice of the owner of the store. I like to paint (portraits among other subjects) and that (tv-)photo intrigued me. Interesting face to paint, so many facets in it !! I decided to contact his agency. (Through this documentary I now understand the name(!!) of his agency. The request was to send my proposition by fax. In the fax I also mentioned I'd need about a approx. 15 minutes of his time. This because I wanted an impression of HIM, not an impression of a movie-role he would have been played in !! During a brief moment a photographer would take some photos of him and I, with the chosen photo would, let's say, deepen into this together with my impression of him. All I needed were those 15 minutes. So I send the fax and ONLY then thought that it wouldn't be a bad idea to google info of relevance (not tabloid -stuff). There, while focussing on his features over the years, read about him. And then... There was a chapter, mostly about his wife being a paintress... And not just as a "hobby". Among her paintings, to be seen on the computer, there was a Marvelous one of him having fallen asleep and a cat carefully climbing on his lap. And I literally felt inferieur. "Here was I with my proposal..."😖 To be followed by a photo of the both of them posing in the museum of arts for women in Washington. She had an exposition there !! 😁 From that moment on I was on my knees praying; "please Lord, let the answer be no..." And, my goodness - thank You Lord !!! I got a sincerely, gentleman's reply back. Thanking me for my consideration but due to his busy schedule he wasn't able to comply. Oof, was I relieved !! I'm very good at making bloopers, for sure !! If I had only had looked for a bit of info about the man... I'm wishing his wife, his children and those extended to him the best, coming from a warm heart to you 💞. May God bless you and keep you 💯🌹. In memoriam: Sir Sean Connery, thank you for having been you. May you rest in peace 💐. Sincerely in Christ Jesus Our Lord through The Holy Spirit 💖, in His service ✝️🔥

I am a Leeds supporter born and bred, even i have to say one of the best finals ever. Was there that day as a young sixteen-year-old. We met three Sunderland fans after and have been friends ever since. So to Brian Alan and Andy ...Cheers fellas.

My favorite actor. The best ever in all different roles he played. The best Bond. People are neglecting also The Hunt for the Red October. Thank you. R.I.P

I'm not so sure about the neglecting part, my friend 😉. In 2001 it was, among a few others of his, advised for me to watch. At the end of "the hunt for the red October", watching it at home, I felt like giving a standing ovation !! 🎯 Be sure to have a nice day, friend !! Sincerely in Christ Jesus, 💖🕊️

I loved Sean Connery in "Entrapment." One of my favorite movies of Sean Connery. But, the clips of 007, he's absolute perfection...made for it. I think, a man of modest means & hardships growing up, helped him become the man he was. Oh, how I would've loved to hear about his growing years, his hardships, his family, that shaped him. What an inspiration he could've done for many and did. He didn't forget where he came from and gave back so generously after becoming successful. He is missed by so many. God bless Sean Connery and Family.,🙏👍❤️

What a unique and multi-faceted documentary, just like Sean Connery was! Thank you so much for the upload! 👏🏽 34:00 FYI: The shots at their home are particularly precious! Seeing Sean Connery with a baby is something I never knew I needed to see. 🥹 That's his granddaughter Saskia, isn't she? The one who payed tribute to him in that lovely post right after his death.

Selling game programmes outside Eden Park one night for the British Lions test against the All Blacks and his limo stopped next to my stand so I grabbed a program and tapped on his window to give it him. He gave me a look of shock and horror, maybe because it had been raining and I was wearing a huge black plastic rubbish bag..but he wound his window down 3 inches and took the program and said thank you with his eyebrows. The All Blacks won....again.

I saw him in Grosvener Sq, he popped out of the house next door immediately he was surrounded by about 15 builder's all looking for autographs, I was the only one who didn't run over, after about 10 minutes of signing bits of paper he eventually left, looking over his shoulder at me he walked away, I don't believe in harassing famous people, he must of been 70 and had to shuffle a little before he strided away, he looked fantastic, I should have given him the thumbs up but choose not too

I never was a fan of James Bond movie's but I am of the man who played him. Mr. Sean Connery always carried himself well. Striking good looks , sultry manly voice and that accent was so buttery. He was who he was and didn't let fame change him. And for that I admire him. Hollywood didn't make him he made Hollywood. He was among some of the last real male stars of stature and grace. He was truly one of a kind. RIP Mr. Sir Connery

Oh my God, I thought I was the only one. Same here! I like the idea of a suave British secret service agent as Fleming created him in his novels, but the movies in particular really are a reflection of a different time, whether it comes to violence, gender roles, politics... At the time of course, it was pioneering art and science of filmmaking, not to mention a never-before seen phenomenon of entertainment! But without Connery's unique combination of natural nonchalance, cleverness, charisma, beauty, humor, coolness yet determination ... , you really see how flat some of the characters and how expectable some of the dialogs are. I guess that's the bottom of this love-hate-relationship: Sean Connery made James Bond a global phenomenon, just like James Bond made Sean Connery a global phenomenon. The two couldn't have become who they were without each-other. Anyways, I'm incredibly lucky that this gifted, hard-working, self-made man was provided with the ultimate platform to become everything he wanted to be and show what a fantastic, multi-faceted artist he truly is.

To be the type of person that Sean Connery was is MORE IMPORTANT than any technological advances men have invented. I try to imagine what his personal thoughts might have been in any given situation and I feel his natural ‘magnetism’ could only have been developed/learned as he alone grew throughout his life. A man who was looked up to by men and women. Not many with his self assurance and total presence IMO…

Thanks for this. Good to see the ITV coverage, Jimmy Hill before he joined Match of the Day and no decisive line from David Coleman "Porterfield! 1-nil". Instead " That's a good ball... and it's gone in!" Perhaps the weirdest thing, despite knowing we won, to see the injury time play - in real time, was agonising to watch!

Great "bullet-like" header by Marco for our equalizer. A pity it was to no avail in the end, as we went down 2-3/suffered immediate relegation from The First Division, but the backing of our amazing travelling support (around 15,000, including myself), was second-to-none, even in the face of disappointment.
