@@Lets_Be_Real_UK Huly. Not a real need to self host, because the free plan is basically unlimited, but OSS and self hostable. I use the free cloud in 6 projects.

@ yeah, I’m thinking of using their free cloud version. In which case I have to consider Asana as well. Anyone has a comparative opinion? Plane being OSS doesn’t really matter when using a SaaS service.

I really appreciated the ability to create relationships between multiple tables and columns even after populating them with data-a feature lacking in Nocodb and Baserow. I also found it much more responsive than those two alternatives. However, I disliked the inability to export filtered data views; I had to remove unwanted data before exporting. The self-hosted version also contained numerous bugs. I understand the project is in beta, and I have high hopes for this platform.

Yes, we had to remove the SMTP service for this software ... because some users really sent real phishing with this ... So now users have to provide their own SMTP credentials for this software

Can you also manage under elastio dedicated servers in for example hetzner or make whole thing scalalble based on dedicated servers as base and deploy more instances from cloud if needed?

I’ll prefer using apache superset because its open source and backed by apache. And gives more chart options and integrations along with customizations. Metabase looks more of a cooked tool that adds more goodies with the paid plans. Thanks for nice video 🎉

Metafase purposefully mixed open source and enterprise versions code on their repository. There is no easy way to distinguish which code belongs to which version. You can't fork it anymore due to their commercial license, so it's basically hostage open source. They also delay or scrutinize pull requests looking to implement features similar to the enterprise version code. I would not recommend that company

You don't need to pay anything if you deploy it on your own computer, but if you want to deploy it in the cloud ... then yes you need to pay a cloud provider for the hosting.
