@DelgadoDetailing13 күн бұрын
It depends on the expectations you set and a little bit on your local market price. Yes I did $375, but I did no paint correction. Normally I do paint correction before coating, but on a 1 year coating, it isn't a big deal as long as you do a good chemical decon first. If I were to be doing any polishing, it would be at least $500

@mr.bhamgarage4570 yeah bro $145 for a ceramic coating even if it's a 1 year is wayyy too low. Although there are Sealants that can last up to 1 yr now, a ceramic coating will perform better and offer better chemical resistance and uv protection over a sealant during that 1 year

@DelgadoDetailing28 күн бұрын
Yeah man unfortunately, if you use any pressure at all with the 320, you're gonna have a hard time getting those scratches removed. One thing that has helped me is splitting the light into sections, and using brand new 500 grits on each section. I've had good success removing 320 grit marks that way. Repeat with the 800 to get the 500 out, but after that, the 1500 and 3000 step is really quick

You don't need to use distilled water with a rinseless wash if it's any good at all. The chemistry of them renders the dissolved solids harmless. Any spots left behind by a rinseless wash should be just polymer spots, not water spots, which can simply be buffed off or rewetted with more rinseless to remove easily.

@thingshappen9199 I wouldn't polish it since the 2k was recently sprayed. What do you suggest charging? There are a ton of business in my area that charge cheaper than I do
@MichaelBrianInc2 ай бұрын
@@DelgadoDetailing I suggest you stop worrying about what others charge and charge what you are worth in the value that you give to your customers. In my area, I have not once looked up what others are charging because most of them are detailers, and I specifically focus on headlight restoration only. minimal is $120 and I often charge between 120 and 160 per pair. Occasionally, I will decide to charge 100 to 115 for smaller headlights on vehicles that are much older and very easy to do but majority I’m not charging less than $120. On average my work takes two hours or slightly less that doesn’t include the drive time and the driving after you’re done with your customer. My time is valuable and if you’re gonna continue charging it just $100 no matter the vehicle type, when all headlights are not made equally or the same, then you are strongly cheating yourself.
@DelgadoDetailing2 ай бұрын
@MichaelBrianInc My guy, I said this headlight restoration was $100. I didn't say all of them are. I never said I don't upcharge on more difficult lights. I've done $250 headlight restorations on some Ford Focus and Kia lights because they are 4x as difficult. I think it's very important to do market research before pricing your services, or else you might just price yourself out of business. I suggest you stop telling others how to run their business and focus on your own.
@MichaelBrianInc2 ай бұрын
@@DelgadoDetailing lol the level of offense you took is funny considering you asked if you should charge more then $100… I don’t follow you nor know your business. I simply answered the question. If somehow you were specifically speaking of this particular vehicle, then I read wrong, however if not then be specific. Regardless, this is worth more than $100… So it still stands, you asked, a viewer who also does restorations responded… So what’s the problem? I guess now because you took what I wrote personal and felt defensive you’re now a top tier pro and don’t like the constructive criticism? Stay in what lane? Which lane do you think I should be in then? And yes market research is imprtant to figure a baseline, but you can’t focus on charging what others charge. If a whole area charges $80 for a pair no matter the vehicle and you do way better work there’s no way you’d be making anything charging the same. Market prices are a baseline reference not an exact blueprint to follow. Don’t ask questions if you don’t like the feedback. You act like someone is telling you how to run your business… Don’t ask then. Charge what you charge and keep it moving.
@DelgadoDetailing2 ай бұрын
@MichaelBrianInc Look man, the only person who is blowing this out of proportion is you. I have nothing against constructive criticism. However, your comment wasn't really constructive. The whole demeanor of your comments was very negative, so of course I'm going to take a bit of offense when someone approaches me that way. Nowhere in any of these comments or in the video did I claim that I am a top tier pro. If you wanted to give constructive criticism on my pricing in response to my question, you could've done it in a more constructive way. But instead, you said "Raise your prices..." and I responded asking what you would recommend, and then you went off. I appreciate you letting me know it was all in good faith. However, next time, word it in a way that actually sounds constructive and not demeaning so that it's actually taken as constructive👍🏻

@MichaelBlast A lot of times, it's actually not that you didn't go deep enough with the p500, it's that you didn't remove all the p500 sanding marks with the p800. The HRP has his process down to a T, so that's why he makes it look so easy. In actuality, it's pretty difficult. Don't worry too much about it bro. It takes time to get crystal clear results and shoot bro I'm not even anywhere near the HRP's level

@DelgadoDetailing2 ай бұрын
@MichaelBlast Yeah that was my main issue when first trying out the HRPs method. You really gotta make sure you remove all the p500 marks as best as you can before you move on.
