The main use of this bad boy is to just wipe the floor with the Eye of Cthulhu and King Slime early on and then you save it for the megashark later if you want. The musket would probably be better because it can actually save ammo, but if you miss once your entire DPS crashes, and you really can't hit a charging Eye reliably with that rof. The Shark is the best pre-hardmode ranger weapon simply because you can use it later and it will still work while being acquirable with almost 0 effort if you don't count money grinding.

I was building an artificial underground lake for crimson, corruption, and hallow fishing, and this thing is a huge time saver.
