It’s a quick setup after a little renovation so it’s not exactly how I envision it. But for now, it’s a ZA 3 Stereo with 48V 10A power supply. Soon, probably this weekend, a swap to V3s times 4. So I’ll be bi-amping Martin Logans. Two monos driving the woofers and the other two powering the panels. I also have Quad monos (clones) to try powering electrostatic panels to see what that brings to the table. But I have no great expectations from those clones. I’ll be getting a DartZeel clone soon and that might be a winner. We will see.

I think about the topping b200 or the b100, the b200 are a little expensive. Had everything from audio note in the past, but i have now more fun with the cheap amps and dacs ;)

I feel you. Find cheap gems is very enjoyable. Topping looks good but not for ❤hat they’re asking for it. There’s a clone that would “murder” it and many others for around $400. I’ll probably get one for myself. AN stuff never disappointed. Pricey as hell tho. Acquaintance of mine own everything from AN including speakers. He loves it. But he’s one of those guys who doesn’t know a thing about components, wants a great sound and has a wallet thick enough to let others pick the best for him.

Honestly, I don’t really know. I don’t watch her at all. Months ago, it appears that she might have grown up from her horish ways and matured. But I kept hearing stories that were both funny and concerning as far as her judgment goes. But that’s just gasp and I wouldn’t take it too seriously in this day and age. I wish her best tho. That’s about all I have to say about her at this point.

I did. It was a while ago tho. Made out of plywood and solid wood with maple veneer. I’m going to put walnut veneer now to better match the rest of the room. That’s a big project you’re taking on. But rewarding at the end. Wish I could see it once it’s done buddy.

Hey Micheal, how you been. No it’s not. Used to be OG “Subway” architecture, if you even want to call it architecture. I’ve renovated it, mostly myself over 20 years ago. Sub-soffit is actually where the old ceiling was. I just raised it a few feet at cost of useless crawl space above old ceiling. 🫡

You know the benefits of 45rpm pressing/mastering. So yes, there’s always an argument to be had when it comes to “is it worth it over 33/3?”. However at this stage of my life, I rather flip the record less than I have to, if there’s only a tinny bit of improvement to be had over 33/3. And thank you for posting. Unfortunately I almost never see responses on my KZbin application so I apologize for such a late response.

I think that I'm going to go LP for this album because the songs are all profound enough that I don't want to be disturbed every 6 minutes to change them. I REALLY appreciate your perspective on this album. I wouldn't mind having to do it depending on the album, but I've realised that this one (for me at least, isn't one of them).👌🔥

Well, you know how it is with upgrades. I won’t sugar coat it. For some, improvements are not only audible and subtle but meaningful in way that leaves no doubt that it would be hard to go back to previous stage. But then, it all depends on the component in question and your system’s ability to paint those differences clearly for you. If your system is revealing enough (price got almost nothing to do with that), you should be motivated to at least experiment and see/hear for yourself. Second, some components respond differently to certain upgrades. Power supplies for example. Components with decent stock power supply and circuitry to compensate for certain flaws might gain little from such an upgrade. In case of ZD3 DAC, switching power supply on it is the cheapest one they could possibly find. And I would certainly get something better. iFi makes compact aftermarket supplies that would work with ZD3 but those are around a $100 so no, I would not pay that for that somewhat premium “brick”. You can find very well build linear power supply for not a whole lot on Ali or eBay. And it def helps. A lot. Or at very least, get a super capacitor. Those gets you closer to dedicated linear power supply for less $. Personally, I don’t care for reviews or reviewers who work under certain timeline to review all that crap coming their way. Simply speaking, I have no idea how can you form an honest, insightful evaluation within a week or less. Probably even less that. I received my unit long ago and played with it extensively. From power supplies to op-amps. And still you don’t see me posting an official review. Except my initial thoughts and experiences. Those guys couldn’t wait to post a review the very next day, if not the same day they’ve received it. It’s crazy lol. Anyway. Yes, invest in power supply or super capacitor bank. Or both with time and if budget allows. Great thing about zd3 is that you can really do so much to get the most out of it and change its performance as well as sound signature. For that kind of money, it’s just crazy. Can you do better? Sure. But be prepared to spend substantially more. And if hdmi arc is something you can find useful (I do) there’s really nothing remotely close in that price range. It just works. No glitches. Super quiet, clean and dynamic. But that’s me. After a little more time with it than a week or less. 🤣😉
