Great vid man! Thanks for taking the time to create this. Looking forward to learning and sharing music knowledge. I have an Apollo Twin interface (amazing preamps) with Ableton and a Neumann TLM-102 Microphone which sounds amazing on vocals.

I watch a lot of these home studio setup videos. This has to be the first time I’ve seen someone using a Roland Quad Capture audio interface in their setup. We’ve got a few things in common. The quad capture was the first audio interface I ever had. Bought it around 2011 or 2012. Only mic I had at the time was the bue yeti pro. I only used that interface 4 or 5 times for just a few minutes at a time. I was always too busy working. I got the octacapture in 2015. Used it maybe once to test a microphone. I still have the quad, but I don’t use it for anything. The octacapture I use just for my hs8’s. I actually have the korg kaosilator plus, but it’s not hooked up. I don’t even know what wires it needs to be hooked up. I’ve had it for maybe 8 years and I’ve never really used it. I worked as an over the road truck driver and I stayed out all the time, so I’ve just been buying gear online & having them sent home. I had the hs8’s for about two years before I even hooked them up. And my computer processor is a 5900x, so similar again to yours as well. Do you have a video showing how you hooked all this stuff up?

Good video! I'd like to know: How did you do it at the window. Are they also panels and do you remove them when you want to look through the window? Or are they a kind of curtains? And if so, what kind of curtains?

audio too low music too loud this is a recording disaster LOL but good setup.
@MikeBelloMusic2 ай бұрын
That has nothing to do with the recordings. That's the audio mix that you're talking about, not the recordings. This was one of the first videos I made when I was still learning how to use Davinci Resolve for video editing, and I didn't know how to use any of the audio features in the program at the time. I really just wanted to get a video uploaded and move on to the next one so I could learn how to edit videos. I didn't expect the video to blow up this much

How did you attach the LED without showing the cables? do you have instructions for this?
@MikeBelloMusic2 ай бұрын
I hid the cables behind the panels. I'm doing a new studio build at the moment with even better lighting and I'll do a full video soon on the lighting setup

Damn it, I wish I had the determination (and a place) to to this. I watch all these videos and I know I could do it but I, unfortunately, don't have the space. 😔 OH well, maybe one day

I know flipping throw windows slows down workflow I always use to think that when I’m working in my studio but as soon as I started setting up key commands I realized it dose not slow down my workflow at all cause I just setup key commands and press one button and a new window opens but if you have to grab your mouse then yes it dose slow down workflow But key commands there really useful Cause us as audio engineers we wanna make everything as easy as possible and make everything easy so we can get that sound we want as fast as possible that’s how audio engineers work they want number 1 a good workflow number 2 they want a good setup in the studio number 3 they want a good mix template For a audio engineer there studio is always changing cause there always improving stuff Like me in my recording studio I’m always changing stuff and always improving everything But I always always change stuff to for content Cause I am also a KZbinr I teach mixing and recording music on my channel

how do you like the stability of it?
@MikeBelloMusic5 ай бұрын
I'm very happy with the stability. It's rock solid, you would really need to push quite hard to get any movement out of it, in normal use it doesn't move at all

You should had gotten a keyboard stand for your keyboard to leave some space to your desk by placing the keyboard on the stand

Love this suggestion, and I'm actually doing that right now haha! I've been sent a new desk as an upcoming KZbin sponsorship that I'll be customising into a custom studio desk and I'm thinking of adding a midi keyboard tray under the desk

Sweet setup my man and love the way the panel and other lights play off the CPU lighting. I applaud you for doing this yourself mostly hand-built but I gotta think you could took a few minutes to tuck those cords away under the desk. All that work and they're an eyesoar first thing I seen in this beautiful home studio.

Hi, can I ask what the first monitor (next to your keyboard at a slant) is for? And what type Of monitor is it? Thanks )
@MikeBelloMusic8 ай бұрын
Hi, I use that monitor to display all of my channel faders. And I have it set up so that if I click on a midi event, the midi will open on the bottom screen so I can edit midi notes while being able to move around the main project window at the same time. The monitor is an Acer IPS screen, IPS screens are good for viewing on an angle without it being hard to see
