How to di 12 lead using life Pak

Our service got those on some bargain deal and I know why now. Absolute piece of junk. Worked decent at first but after couple years (assuming warranty ended) started to fail. To get a good tracing is a hit or miss, sometimes you will get all the bumps in the road instead of pt's heart rhythm, lot of times you will get zigzags on steady pt no matter what you do and few times I noticed that improved after truck started moving 🤷♂️ not gonna mention unable to get a BP reading cause that's something you can do manually but ECG not. Also to go back from AED to regular mode is pretty much impossible during the code so you have to turn it off which will mess up your whole time line. Did I mention that it costs like a brand new car?

Fun fact: On one of the demonstration units used in making this video, the Physio-Control badge in the top right corner is replaced by a retro style logo that was used in the 90s. On the startup screen for this particular unit it also says "Defibrillator/Monitor" instead of "Monitor/Defibrillator" like all other LP15s as a throwback to the older term.

The no shock advice command from the lifepak 20 machine prior to succeeding shock adviced would it be time to someone prepare anti- arrythmic medications at least open the e- cart drawer for that and prepare the syringes then call the Doctor because it is Code Blue if patient has IV fluids already.

If synchronised cardioversion is performed on a patient that is conscious - is it painful ?
@Falaxuper4 жыл бұрын
It is just as painful as one would think how painful getting struck by lightning is. Cardioversion is done under sedation.

Stryker has become aware that certain LIFEPAK 15 Monitor/Defibrillators were reported to experience a lock-up condition after a defibrillation shock was delivered. This condition is defined as a blank monitor display with the LED lights on, indicating power to the device, but no response in the keypad and device functions. A device in this condition has the potential to delay delivery of therapy, and this delay in therapy has the potential to result in serious injury or death. Since the initial commercialisation of LIFEPAK 15 in 2009, Stryker has become aware of 58 complaints reported globally for this issue, including 6 events in which the patient died following a delay in therapy. In all six of these cases, at least one shock was delivered prior to the device experiencing the lock-up condition

How do you switch it to manual mode? Is it different on all units depending on how our service has it set up?
@kiwiambo167 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on how your service has set the monitor up. Our service has set the machine up to start in AED mode which has to be changed to manual mode after.
