When did Christianity come to America? Christianity was introduced to America during the 16th and 17th centuries!! What religion was in America before Christianity?? Before tthe arrival of European colonists north American indigenous faiths varried wildly from Tribe to Tribe having their own mythology, deities, spirits and practices now how are black americans Christians!!!

Anthony Johnson, who was enslaved in Angola, Africa and sold to into the Atlantic Slave Trade. He was again sold to a Virginia colonist around 1620. He worked as an Indentured Servant for about 14 years and then was given his freedom. He didn't work the traditional 3 - 7 years that a European Indentured Servant worked. The same held for his wife, Mary. He was given a plot of land. He also purchased the contracts of 5 Indendured Servants, including that for his son.

It is important to note that Africans brought, against their will to the British colonies, were enslaved. I don't think it is accurate to call these people Indentured Servants. They were enslaved in Africa (either by other African nations or by European slavers) and they were sold as slaves to people in the British colonies. They did not enter voluntarily into indenture. They were not criminals who were working off a penalty. Some were even royalty. Most were captured and sold into slavery.

Thank you for sharing this. Im a Murrells Inlet native living in Germany. I used to work in every restaurant up and down that strip. I started at wallace lee's which was constructed by the The Lees Inlet Kitchen. Rosevelt Pickett was my uncle and used to work at the Lodge. Its fascinating to learn how the Inlet used to in the early times, Black or White

So now you have them trying to erase history bringing immigrants over here illegally n giving them the loans to build business etc generational wealth because they country wasn't giving them shit be wise and observe y'all and also they're getting breaks that are not even putting money into the very system for us to retire but I know in the end that God will prevail for the people against his people we are the chosen ones keep praying no matter what I don't care how many years it was in between..

I’m from a Jamaican background but on doing my dna it soon became apparent that part of my history on paternal and maternal sides have strong ties to North and South Carolina. Charleston, is noted as a starting place for many of my dna BA cousins. It extends into neighbouring states in the south. I want to learn more about this and would appreciate any help offered. I was told up to 10,000 BA slaves were transferred to Jamaica during the war of independence. I believe this would make sense of why I have so many white and black American cousins.

South Carolina has the best of all three worlds Charleston, Hilton Head, and Myrtle Beach. Low country living is quiet simple living for many black descendants 15:19 of South Carolina. However, Charleston and other places have been infiltrated by transplanting and reverse migration from Northern cities so traffic can mirror that of big cities. They call it the New South, meaning you may not live amongst Southerners like in the days of your grandparents, but rather it has become more multicultural and Cosmopolitan like Nee York City. South Carolina has always been one the best places to live and visit. Possibly the reason my paternal great grandparents never left home to migrate North.

I grew up in northeastern NC. I was 5 when Gloria came by. Truly formative event. Gloria, Hugo, Bob, Emily, Bertha, Fran, Floyd, Isabel, Matthew, Florence. From almost as far back as I can remember, hurricanes have been a periodic staple of life but looking back on all of them, I *still* can't believe Hugo actually happened. We got nothing from it in my neck of the swamp, but that thing was a f*cking monster.

Thank you to all of those involved in this presentation! I have to say that while I am extremely proud of our nation's technological advances both before and during WWI, but I have NEVER been a big fan of the lattice masts. I have however, always loved the design of USS Texas.
