I'm still rooting for the Dev's success and the success of Kweebec Roots! :D Also, I could totally picture it how there could be different kinds of Skellies, from those that are alive via 'Possessing Soul' kinda thing to those that are simply animated like puppets via Void Magic, and are distinguished most easily via their Eye Sockets Glow invoking the good ol' TVTrope "Color Coded for Convenience". :) Since Mr. Big Bad is a big shot at Void Magic Use, I could totally picture idiot fool Orbis Void Magic Users finding out about Mr. Big Bad's existence and plotting and scheming some 2 I.Q. Plot to summon Mr. Big Bad to Orbis craving the kinda power he could give, then that promptly not ending pretty and ending up becoming the beginning of the end of that Civilization, then eventually Orbis's Peace and Prosperity, and even Gaia not managing to stop it... prompting the need for us Player Character's help in setting things right. Still curious if the SP Story could end up open ended as to if 'help' is or is not what the Player Character can choose to give...? For some, the temptation of the Dark Side can be strong... also it's a known Big Bad Playbook trick to look for ways to trick Heroes into accidental making things worse for themselves and better for the Big Bad. :P Edit: How did Google Chrome's Spellchecker look at "fromm" and say "Hmm... no problem here."...? Yet it gives the razz to "Spellchecker"... 🤦‍♂

the truth is that hytale regretted dropping the announcement trailer. It got them investors yeah (RIOT) and that increased the scope and made the project bigger. BUT, they would rather be developing in silent. They are early. And have actively decided to hide the project from the community. It would take an underpaid intern to write blog posts with tiny tiny updates. Or at least a meme filled twitter that's active. So its a decision internally to be radio silent

i'm really interesting in hearing from the team about how the engine/language change will affect modding. i think i remember seeing once that they wouldn't have actual loader mods with scripts and what-not and instead would have some kind of online GUI based mod development system. as a programmer, i'm concerned that modding may become convoluted or less powerful than with minecraft.

I'm sorry but the interest in this game is waning for me at least. the game has been in development for so long and the fact we've been given so little information the fire I had for this game might as well be charcoal

Hytale has been in development since 2015 and has inexplicably managed to avoid the label of vaporware and keeps getting the benefit of the doubt when it fails to deliver any sort of real news time and time again. Wonder if 10 years will be when people finally realize its never coming out

Community does not bring out a game, the developer does and they have not shown or prove anything that would bring in any sort of confidence regarding a release. They made a mistake moving away from whatever engine they had before. The new images do NOT look better than any previous images we had.

I discovered this game literally only a few days ago looking for something similar to Cube World/Minecraft and it looks a lot like I'm looking for. So I'm really hoping that we get more info about it.

This game is meant to bilk investors. How do you spend 8 years on a minecraft Mod. No footage of anything real. It is all faked in blender. There was some kind of coding problem they couldn't crack, and just keep faking it to keep the money rolling in as long as it will.

The frustration is understandable. Hytale has become the nuclear fusion of gaming - always just 20 months away.

I just think it’s kind of sad to think about that the Game was close to finished, and then they pulled the rugs and just announced a engine rewrite. This could have been done as a huge Update and been released later on.

I think it would be so cool to work on Hytale. I will have my masters degree in computer science next year. Machine learning / AI is cool.

Biggest scam ever created.

As a minecraft modder, making the engine from scratch and all the details that go into making the game, all the assets, all the animations, particle physics, terrain generation, etc etc etc. Not to mention building the engine for a lot of different platforms. That is absolutely immense work. It takes a lot of man power under a long time to flesh out something like this. I do think they should be more transparent, but at the same time, showing off something that isn't final is often a bad thing because it gives the impression that what is shown is the final version. I'm just glad they're still on the grind to be honest. I hope they focus their energy on the project with passion, instead of seeing it as a job they have to do because they committed to the task, and not to get overwhelmed. It's easy to feel discouraged when your hobby becomes your job, and it can deter you from enjoying the process of building something from the ground up because there's suddenly a lot of pressure put on you to deliver something good. I hope they're able to allow themselves to not be perfectionists. The hardest part of a project is finishing it before you give up, but doing so you've surpassed 99% of everyone who tried.

You not have to be a downer, but pls reflect on your role as someone who is constantly wined and dined by the developers who care shit about the community. Fixing everyone up with a hype-trailer, profitting from the hype, to get big money on board and went silent only to cater to you and your fellow mouthpieces with some merch to keep you loyal and lighthearted.

The fact that there are still 32000 people watching Hytale news is so interesting to me. I have been hyped about the game since the Release Trailer five years ago - the game has not gone out of my head since. I will forever be hyped for Hytale no matter how much time passes. :)

About the negative comments: Hytale looks bad. It has been years, and i don't mean 1 or 2... It has been 5 whole years. A game like Hytale could easily be produced from concept to finished product in that span alone. It is very weird and unusuall to make a block game for 10 years until we see a release (which seem pretty much how it looks)...

Why would red glow indicate that they're being controlled (implying that the prior blue glow wouldn't, else the observation wouldn't really make much sense in context). Both colors COULD indicate that they're being controlled, or simply an artistic representation of the animating "magic"/energy making them undead as opposed to just dead.

The hytale dev team is just a bunch of clones of yandare dev doing nothing but typing else if all day. In about 30 years there will be enough else if code to create a vague caricature of what could be considered an in dev game engine if you squint really hard.

This is like star citizen but without the millions of scammed dollars
