I heard that these were considered unreliable,underpowered,even would break down when doing neutral steering.Yeah sounds like a completely made up BS to me. The amount of misinformation spread about WW2 German vehicles in internet is insane.

Pretty sure this is of a restored jagpanther with newer parts. But it was unreliable and would break down, it was made with the chassis of the panther tank, Pz,rgt 26 reportedly lost 24 panthers due to engine fires, final drive breaks, and transmission failures on their march. The panthers that were reported as unrepairable where sent on a train to be salvaged for parts. The reason for these problems was because they focused on the armor and gun of the panther rather than the soft factors like reliability, turns out a 66ton tank that can go 45kph was not a great idea for ww2.

Ok, so a lot of tanks used front drive sprockets during ww2, the reason was so that the tracks had more slack in the front, and didn't pull down on the suspension so it could work properly, the closest thing to gun stabilization they had was just really good suspension, anyways, you can see the slack buildup in most tanks, but as you can see on this jagpanther, it has *plenty* lol, injist find that funny, thought in reality this is most likely the sprocket being too new to let the track go, so the first road wheel has to kinds peal it off, the solution is use it a little more

what wrong with german engineer between 1940-1945? are they smoked on something? are they from another universe? they just created and designed very beautiful and deadly tank. even the engine sound are beautiful. i just cannot blink my eyes when i see tiger 1, king tiger, jagdpanther etc man.

The germans had plans to mount the K43 88mm in the turrent of the Panther tank, it would have been easier and quicker to do that than create the Jagdpanther, they could have eliminated the hull machine gunner/radioman position and used it for ammo storage, have the commander operate a radio mounted in a sponson behind the turrent.
