We spent 18 days in a motor home in scotland last year it was fabulous, so we are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2025. Would you mind telling me the length of your motor home and if you think most of the scenic roads would cope with a 26 footer. Husband is a capable driver Tia

Hey up you two. We're looking on Google for a repair to our skylight mechanism and Miles pops up, thanks for posting your repair. Just a question, Miles said ' its well and truly mashed' but we couldnt see what it was...... is it the cog ? You mentioned 'straightening the kink' , can you offer any more info when you're back from Iceland please? We're going to tackle it ourselves at some point soon. Xx Sue n Steve
@TheMotoroamers4 ай бұрын
Hi Susie, All you have to do is wind the mechanism in the right direction and the metal inner sheath straightens out. When you open the black box there's a clamp ( like the ones you can see to the right of the loop the loop. The black plastic outer sheath has to be clamped back into that (tightly) and that's all I did. When I say 'mashed' I was probably exaggerating for the sake of a good video. The end of the black outer sheath was ripped a bit but once back in the clamp it worked again. Oddly enough, when you force wind these things the wrong way, they don't like it. I was outside watching the Football ( just saying) lol. Hope this helps.
@susie0ch4 ай бұрын
Hi Miles, thanks for replying . Our skylight is closed therefore, covering the black box thingy. Was yours skylight open prior to the mechanism not winding? How might we open the skylight to access the winder cables / back box please ? Susie n Stevie

As a Cardiff lad who enjoys outdoor adventure activities in my 7th decade, that area was, and still is a playground for all types of things. Was a Scout activities instructor for a while and had great fun introducing youngsters to the challenges of climbing, kayaking (inc the rapids), navigating the paths. So glad you featured those places. So many other things to do in the surrounding areas as well. Privileged to have seen the Falcons on the cliff nest in the breeding season. The area gets really busy and the rock viewing area does get cramped in high season. Thanks Karen for showcasing the area.

Loved the footage K, you are so professional with that camera. A stunning place even without the horses, but they are beautiful and such performers. The riders and the horses form such an attachment that the whips are not used in punishment so much as an instrument to lightly tap the horses flank at the appropriate moment as part of their mutual language to achieve the change of movement or action. So impressive, thank you for sharing.

Hello, we new to your channel and are loving watching all the places you have been and experiences you have had. We are going full time living later in the year and are wondering how going to other countries one after another affects your 90 day stay. Do you have to keep coming back or is there a way to keep going 😊
@TheMotoroamers6 ай бұрын
Hi Tracie, well we are very happy you found us. Travel is certainly different since Brexit, although we navigate it just fine with a little bit of planning. In fact it has made us look differently at travel and look beyond the motorhome. Whilst 90% of our time we live in Scoobie, the rest is a more worldwide perspective and this certainly helps with our Schengen Shuffling. Our approach is to dance around the Schengen for around 80 days (leaving a contingency in case we need to get back to the UK in a hurry) The we head for Morocco (we have just come back from 108 days there by just extending our visa) Turkey will be another option perhaps later this year as they too are non Schengen. At the time of this video, Croatia was out; now they're in! Although Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro are all free for us to travel. The other bonus is Ireland which although in Europe is not in Schengen, so we often extend our travels by travelling there, then sailing across to Spain or France. And we can save up to 8 days by taking the Santander or Bilbao ferry. The cost is about the same although the time you save going by ferry not road is well worth it. The other consideration although we have not done it yet is to apply for the French 6 month tourist visa. This with this Schengen 90 days bolted either side gives a full year out (minus the MOT). Then if we have to come back to the UK for any length of time, we build a month long haul in somewhere in the middle of our 90 days to break up our Schengen Sentence. Does that help? Good luck with all your plans. Keep in touch. x
