This isn't my own but I had to mention that I've seen a weird amount of people simping over The Boiled One (from the Analog Horror series: The Boiled one Phenomenon.) and he's even considered a tumblr sexyman apparently I can't say I get it. But who am I to judge? He does seem like a nice fella, warning you from danger or something idek. (My taste is pretty basic unfortunately but I still wanted to contribute. The worst you'll get with me is like... Incineroar and that didn't really feel that "out there.")

I dont know if the hero sword will come up again, but in my mind its a red herring to begin with. For one thing, in most fantasy or dnd systems, magical or legendary items dont age or rust, but that sword looked very aged. Though, maybe it really is some legendary item if no one could pull it, monsters are drawn to it, there must be something to it right!? But it could also just be an abnormality, either a cursed blade or the barrier around it is a spell that attracts things and makes it immovable, something mysterious that became a legend over time as no one would recall how it got there or the details behind it, maybe people just made up a story to explain it.

I’m pregnant at the moment and have something called Hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe morning sickness, this affects my tastes and smells, so now EVERYTHING, even things that I know ordinarily smell and taste good - make me sick to my stomach. Everything tastes and smells foul and rotten and I have a visceral reaction to it. Even sounds and words can make me feel dizzy and nauseous, as crazy as it sounds. After experiencing this I thought about this comic that I hadn’t remembered in years because suddenly I related to it so much. Thankfully I don’t see my husband as a giant flesh blob but his shampoo does make me retch so I try not to stay too close to him. It’s so upsetting knowing that you are the problem but you can’t change your perception of reality. Thankfully this only last 9 months 🤣😩

It does seem to be a gut reaction to what most of us have been conditioned to look for in a hero. However, as others pointed out, it is not about Stark pulling 'excalibur' out of the rock and showing off. It is more about his idea of a hero and how he has been so hard on himself to stack up to a perception, also guilt over what happened to his brother, when the truth is he is already a hero in many ways.

i think most people who watched this episode (or read the manga) are missing the point of the himmel failing to pull the hero sword story. The point is it wasn't the sword or any deus ex bullshit that made himmel a REAL HERO, it was his achievement to defeat the demon king without the said sword. Frieren pointed how everyone romanticise how himmel came to be to the point of brushing his extraordinary feats with made up stories to cover up something "embarassing". And most of people actually wanted stark to pull that sword to become "a legend" or cool is literally what frieren was trying to point out. This episode is about how whether if it's himmel or stark or stoltz CAN BE A REAL HERO THEMSELVES. REAL HEROES aren't made by their legendary weapon, THEY ARE MADE BY THEIR OWN EFFORT AND THEIR CHARACTER.

everyone wants stark to be the hero, but thats not the kind of story this show is. even if he qualifies,the show isnt about defeating the demon king again.
