Come on Rose Keiichi is the boy man he deserves to be in S!! Ikr it's your list of course but he does such a good job in being the character that is used to introduce us to the cast and all of the mysteries surrounding Hinamizawa, finding out his backstory was actually pretty twisted also added to his character to me

19:02 all you need to know is that Chie-sensei bears a striking resemblance to a certain blue haired heroine in tsukihime. So striking, it’s almost like Chie is an explicit homage to that character / Tsukihime / type moon (which she is).

Yeah, as a longtime fan of the the anime, I went into Gou with the obvious misunderstanding of it as a remake, and to watch it go right off the rails time and time again was a pleasant return to form after all these years. I can rewatch Higurashi over and over again, but I can't remove my memory of all the twists and developments, so to get new, proper Higurashi drama and mystery (not ova), is simply a welcome one.

Now, where would you place my man Kimiyoshi? Since you mentioned it for Teppei, Rina also got her redemption arc, but both only got it in Gou and Sotsu which ofc the list isn't about. I agree with the list overall.

personally for me, higurashi sotsugou boosted satoko way up on my list, though ive not actually made one for all of higurashi characters and not quite sure if it does make her my fave character.

Missed the badass school-principle. Also, Mion doesn't fall victim to the syndrome because she never leaves Hinamizawa for long. All the victims are outsiders in some way.

Every character is perfectly described. For me Keiichi, Mion, Takano and Rika are S-Tier. And as much as I don't want to think about those I can't, It managed to make me hate one of the most sympathetic characters like Satoko and love and feel sad for one of the hated characters like Rina, because of that Only I would put Rina as An A Tier Character for me. Original series wise it's perfect.

Another Hot Take: Be Specific. It seems there is a marked tendency to blanket fling the term "Abuse" and target fixate on allegations or accusations without a willingness to expose the facts, or accept alternate facts when unveiled. Is it Physical Abuse? Is it Molestation? Is it Neglect? Is it Psychological Abuse? Or is it Parenting that offends one party's sensibilities, completely neglecting to understand other life experiences, values, or intentions? Is that where the GOU and SOTSU hate comes from? Taking away a license to hate "the absolute worst persons"?
