For me, U2 have never been able to recreate that raw, intense feel of 'The Fly' in their live performances. Always been too commercial sounding when they've done it live. Something tells me Daniel Lanois who produced the song, had a lot in making it an amazing song.

The studio version has layers of guitars mixed on top off each other. A single guitarist cannot reproduce that on his own.

Concordo, Jonatas. Não há melhor versão de The Fly do que essa. Particularmente falando, prefiro essa versão ao vivo do que a de estúdio.

The snippet Bono plays and sings at the beginning is probably an improvisation, because as you can see in the background there is something not okay with Edges guitar, and I think this is what Bono sings about: "electrical outputs" and power outage". My opinion is that The Edges guitar had some electrical issues, but fortunately it got solved right before The Fly could have been flown away :)
