Does anyone know if a stunt person was used for Richard Pryor's stunts, and if so what happened to this person? I heard it was a female stunt person and that she died on set.

He's talking here about Superman IV. Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus. The stingy low budget producers.😢

So, this released before the movie? It completely spoils the plot! I love this Movie though, Reeve was at his physical peak

Good interview - don't think I'd ever seen it before. Reeve very honest about the Superman sequels. I think he only made one too many, but can understand why he regrets Superman 3 too. He was great in it and there are some good moments in it, but the movie is ruined overall by Richard Pryor's OTT performance and some of the decisions the producers made.

This documentary was narrated by the late actor Al Matthews, who played the tough, cigar-chomping Sgt. Apone in “Aliens”. Mathhews is also featured in “Superman II” as the fire chief during the chemical plant fire scene!

I never liked Terry Wogan, I had to grow up watching him because my Dad liked him and I remember seeing this interview when it was first broadcast. YES Terry we know Superman IV was crap but he just couldn't leave it alone here. I never thought he was funny, he was rude and sly, he thought he was funny, he was horrible to David Icke everyone worshipped him and what the fuck was going on with that hair???

It's pretty well known that Chris flew to Chile to support actors whose lives were being threatened by Pinochet, ~1987 or so. A few years later Pinochet was removed.

His intelligence was intact. The whole point of his book “Still Me” was to say that even though, he was greatly limited physically, his intelligence, humor, sharp wit, kindness…all that good stuff was all intact. He was so much more than just a pretty face with an athletic physique.

2:38 You can tell here how Christopher was so heartbroken at how Superman IV turned out and the way Cannon Films treated the project by slashing the budget in pre-production and making false promises just to make a profit. The effects for a Superman film is so important and it didnt get the respect that Christopher originally intended it to have.

In 1989, sequels were just starting to transition broadly into being given first-class productions. Superman IV was the ultimate victim of talentless producers licensing a brand name just to make a cheap production that cashed in on the original film.
