I handsew stuffed bears. They’re all completely unique from each other, and they take about 8 hours each to make. I’m worried if I price my art what it’s worth, no one will buy it. I’ve already gotten negative feedback from asking around about a 60-80$ price range but priced at minimum wage, these guys would start at 125$ without a profit margin. I’m not too sure what to do

What kind of machine does just 1 stitch on top of the fabric? I thought it was cover stitch machine but everyone says it’s 2-3 stitch lines on front.

Gorgeous! I love your style lines, the top stitching, and I definitely wouldn't make it with external pockets. I'd go for inside ones to still be able to put my hands in them. Anyway. I know my comments are very late, but your videos are very encouraging to me, a fellow seamstress.

I'm getting more and more intrigued by working in Illustrator. Thank you for showing us how you were able to manipulate the sleeve pattern in the program. I'm going to check out Victoria Werner's course, because I would LOVE to learn to use Illustrator for drafting my personal sewing patterns. Currently, I'm working with paper, and it's so time-consuming to use my basic blocks to draft new patterns...

Talking about sleeve fitting issues is super important, because I feel that's where most modern patternmaking really is not up to par. Modern, vs, 18th and 19th century, I mean. I'm a bit disappointed that you decided not to make another toile with your changes. My experience tells me that while making the armscye smaller will help with the range of motion of your arm, making the shoulder seam longer to go to your natural shoulder point will hinder it. Illustrating my point: Look where your shoulder point is when you stand straight, with your arm down. Now lift your arm, and you'll see that all the muscles around the shoulder point will rise with your arm - so that shortening that shoulder seam instead of making it longer would actually help more. For really tight fitting garments, it helps to stop the shoulder seam at your bra strap - where the little dip is between neck and shoulder. Anyway - that's been my experience...

The experiences you're going through sound very familiar. I took some Craftsy courses to make a basic bodice block, but only became really happy with it when I triangulated my measurements - for example: to figure out the point at the side neck that serves as a measuring base (and is, in my opinion, VERY difficult to find properly, I measured it from the center waist point and from the side waist point, and working with paper (though I'm sure Illustrator could do that), I plotted both lengths in as arcs, and the point was where they cross. Plus it really helped to draw in the points I measured on my scrap- t-shirt - as you're doing right now with your waist tape. That's the only way I was able to come up with a good bodice block for me. By the way - you didn't talk about it, but it's really important to measure yourself with the type of bra you're usually wearing...

This is such a great tutorial! I'm replicating my favorite pair of pants, but since I have never sewn pants before, I didn't know how to design or sew the fly part. Thank you for your free pattern pieces and clear explanations!

Thank you for the great video. I would have never thought of using an invisible zipper as the fly zipper but it makes a lot of sense since the font will be covered by the skirt section. However I will try to add pockets in my version. I can’t live w/o pockets.

I like the idea of the price tag. Myself, I sell fine art prints of my artwork, which cost more than cheap prints of course. I had an easier time making sales once I printed off a little sheet that went over the benefits of buying a fine art print (eg won't fade or discolour for a long time, vs cheap prints that can fade or discolour within a year or so). Plus I gram them myself and take care to use materials to improve the longevity of the print. It helps them understand it all, and they feel better knowing they're getting something that's good quality too.

I must be tripping because the pattern pieces for the lower shell and for the center lining say cut on the fold but they do not look like they were cut on the fold in the pattern directions or with the pieces you are using. I'm also confused with lining up the notches of the gathered strip with the notches of lower shell because theres only one notch on the gathered strip but 2 notes on the lower shell (if you don't cut it on the fold, that is). I feel like this happens with patterns for me constantly so I wonder if I am reading them wrong :'(

Do not sell on Etsy. There is no protection for sellers returned items. Etsy team gave buyer a full refund and told the buyer no need to return the sellers bag back..So, buyer gets full refund and sellers item also. Etsy will not Acknowledge the wrong they did to the seller. All other sites like ebay, they have the buyer return the sellers item back before they get a refund. This is what Etsy should have done with the seller. This Etsy is so Unprofessional. They should be taken off the internet. I'm following up on this Scam.

Hi, as one who has just started sewing, I still have some issues understanding the individual differences in techniques and practices of the individual contributors. My question(s) to you, or anyone who can clarify, is/are 1. What that tiny extra width of the pattern where the zip is to be attached, for? 2. Is a seam allowance already included at that particular place, or is the *no* seam allowance required here? (i.e. *only* those few millimeters ) 3. I assume that the instructions are gender neutral, my sewing is mainly for myself (M) but also for my partner (F). I.E. Zips will be 'L' & 'R' depending ... 4. For this particular execise, which length of zipper would be correct / envisaged? (Trying to understand the proportion Zipper :: Fly Facing) As you may have noticed, I am still very inexperienced and rely to a great extent on YT material to start finding my own way. Unfortunately there is so much material / so many differing steps etc, that the confusion is sometimes defeating! I do find your descriptions intuitive and easier for me to follow. However that tiny extra width has me a little confused and in need of clartification. If anyone 'here' can provide some enlightenment, I would be very grateful. [edit: grammer & sturucture]

I think this only works for some products. I make stickers. And when I say make, I draw them by hand and use a Cricut machine to cut them. However, the drawings can take me at least an hour. Minimum wage in my state is $15/hr. Nobody is going to pay 25 dollars for a sticker sheet...😂😂😂😂

That's very true too. It works for larger items but maybe less so for small things like that.
