Every character was deeply flawed, but Richie was the only likeable one, making the show a hard watch for me.

where the hell have I been. Don't know why I avoided this for so long. Fear of how we would be portrayed. Great job on that.

Ritchie has the most heartwarming laugh ... "that's my abuela." Just love his character ... so decent, honest, loyal, faithful. Everyone deserves a Ritchie even when we're foolish enough to think we want the excitement of a serial cheater.

Thank you for putting all those scenes together. Everything makes so sense. Truly loved this whole story. On one side, I am sorry they canceled it. On the other I feel it completed and precious as it is. Nonetheless, I have been keeping this adorable bunch of guys and their stories with me, since I’ve watched the the season and the movie for the first time back in the day. Especially Pat and Richie. Love how things start, get difficult, then evolve and finally mature between them. Excellent acting and perfect dialogues.

first of all, San Francisco is my favorite city....on Earth. And yes, Ive traveled abroad and extensively, both in the military and as a civilian. I was stationed in East Bay/Alameda, before the Naval Air Station I was designated to, was closed down for redevelopment. So, I have a history with the city that goes back to 1984. And after my 2nd year in the Marines, I moved offbase, into the city, to Bernal Heights, where me and a friend shared a basement apartment. So, you can imagine how this series stirred up so many memories for me...good...and bad. AIDS was front and center for all of the 13 yrs that I spent in SF, before I cried "Uncle!", and moved to SoCal. But believe it or not, watching this series, has motivated me to move back to SF. No..I dont care that there is a homeless problem there. What major city in the US DOES NOT have a homeless problem?. Hell, I can remember homeless folks in San Francisco, during the 80s for cryin out loud. So, that wont be the thing that makes me hesitant. The one drawback to moving back, is finding a relatively affordable place to live. I loved the show...every minute of it.

Just a reminder that the primary director/writer/executive co-producer on Looking was Andrew Haigh, responsible for the films Weekend and All of Us Strangers. He certainly established a wonderful naturalness and emotional intimacy in this series -- much like his movies (others are 45 Years and Lean On Pete) -- and he also set a distinctive visual style that was carried over into the episodes he didn't direct. The frequent use of long takes (no cutting), especially in two-person scenes, is really wonderful, letting us see how beautifully the actors listen to each other and connect as the characters. A very special show.
