It is very important for any person to find something to strive for and fight for no matter what the circumstances. Once you set the right goal for yourself, making decisions will be easy and fun. What used to seem like an excruciating chore will turn into an enjoyable activity. Go where your labour will be needed! Go where there is money and where your work will be decently paid! Sooner or later you will have to co-operate with people of different nationalities and cultures. To make your business successful, you should learn a foreign language. I would like to recommend to you Yuriy Ivantsiv's workshop "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips on learning foreign language". This book will help you to structure and organise your individual language learning process, will give you the opportunity to independently determine the methodology of language learning, which will become interesting and unburdensome. In this amazing book everyone will find a lot of useful information: how to learn foreign languages, how to memorise information, how to deal with culture shock, what to pay attention to when travelling to another country. I am convinced that the book "Polyglot Notes" should be in the bag of every business person, school and college student, and tourist. The most important thing is that the book gives a good motivation. Don't be afraid to do something to realise your dreams! If people realised that fears have no connection with reality, everyone would live a much better life. Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video. Your videos motivate me and give me new ideas!

ESG will fade to irreverence. Just like DEI all the jobs. ESG looks good on the surface, but when you look into how the scores are calculated that's where the BS comes in. The Environmental impact is what everyone focuses on the most and that's a good thing. But for Social, why does it have the categories it has, everything in Social has laws governing these areas save for the supply chain, assuming your business isn't critical to a country's security or a part of a gov contract. And WTF is "Social vulnerability". For Governance, there are laws to cover these things as well. Why does the Board of Directors diversity matter? It should be a meritocracy, select the best person for the job. There are laws for pay ratios and discrimination. There are laws for business ethics. Accounting practices, laws for that as well, and the Board controls exec pay.

Great walkthrough on the progression and roles in the field. If this would ever happen, I am curious when and where companies would give more focus on impact itself given the starting reporting to strategy. Perhaps not a push from the companies themselves but from the investors?

do you need impact skills for positive change? If I am right, I notice people hired for sustainability and ESG do not have such skills, is that true and is that a lack of it?

I hope someone else posts their salary information too! I saw no one else has! I am a consultant in zero waste consulting, I started as a recycling coordinator, and that salary is about $65k/year, I then became a project manager two years later and went all the way up to $80k/year, and now I'm currently a director of projects, at $90k/year. I'm based in Orange County, California, Ive been with the company for almost 6 years. Most of our clients are cities/municipalities, and not many corporate clients. That client base affects profit margins. We are a small consulting firm. Hope this helps someone out there! Thanks Tyanna!

Hi! I'm a big fan of your videos; they're incredibly informative. I am Currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in biotechnology, I'm looking to pursue a master's in sustainability. However, I'm torn between sustainability management and sustainability science. My goal is to work as a consultant or in any industry. I'm not considering a PhD at this point. Any recommendations? What masters should I do sustainability management or science.

Tyanna, can I just say, there is NOBODY else sharing the knowledge and insight the way you are doing. I am so glad I found you, you've done an amazing job of finding a niche and really grasping exactly what the audience is looking to learn! So much info on sustainability as a corporate career trajectory is not really helpful, not high quality, not relevant, or not useful. You're amazing!
