Great video! I visited Onomichi back in April of this year. Can you tell me how you transported your Brompton on the Shinkansen?
@hilmiiman6 күн бұрын
Thanks! I put my Brompton in the large baggage compartment in the deck area (advanced reservation required). An alternative would be booking the backmost seat and putting the bike behind the seat

great footage, should i buy the DJI action 4 or Pocket 3?

Thanks! If you want better quality and cinematic look, go for the pocket 3. For sporty use, action 4

i tried the brompton in my city and didn't like the feel, i could feel all the bumps and rough terrain. Do you feel the brompton is comfortable to ride? Is it different in Japan cuz most of the road seem smooth.
@hilmiimanАй бұрын
I think it's more comfortable when compared to similar sized folding bikes (like my older folding bike), but definitely worse than a normal sized bike. I occasionally encounter gravel roads and just ride with it, although not comfortable. When the road gets too rough, I'll just push the bike
@A5669-l5nАй бұрын
I like your style of brompton travel. On 14%, you push. On stairs, you carry the bike. I can tell you have strong arms w/o going to the gym. This is what I call a all-terrain style cycling. No wonder you have cramps. Lol. Don’t stress yourself. Take it easy and be safe. Harry HKG.
@hilmiimanАй бұрын
Thanks Harry! Carrying the bike up the stairs was not a problem compared to cycling up the 14% hahaha. I'll remember to take it easy 👍🏻

How do you pick your route? Do you research first? Are the routes commonly frequented by other cyclist?
@hilmiimanАй бұрын
I just open google maps, find some interesting spots to visit in that area and plan my route around them. I don't really plan based on whether it's frequented by other cyclists, but i often end up riding common cycling roads anyway. As long as the road doesn't look dangerous/too steep, i just ride haha
@Jordan-inJapanАй бұрын
Another beautiful and relaxing ride around Shima! I’m thinking of following your example and doing my own south Mie cycle tour in November. Maybe into Wakayama? So… how were those bike paths? When I was driving there recently I didn’t feel like they would be much help to cyclists… What did you think?
@hilmiimanАй бұрын
For me the road was alright. Some part of the route has blue line (cyclist lane but not separated), and sometimes empty sidewalks. If you're comfortable with riding with some traffic occasionally, it should be fine. (For me, almost any road is fine haha)

this foldable bike is so handy for public transport...i wonder whether standard bikes are allowed in Japanese trains...i did not notice them (I was also in Enoshima, Fujisawa in July), but maybe one has to go at the end of the train? in the last car?
@hilmiiman2 ай бұрын
Yes standard bikes are also allowed in trains, but you need to take off the wheels and put it in a bag. (Folding bikes also need to be put in a bag). Yes it's recommended to go to the end of the trains because there's space there
