Hi, is this on the south side of the harrison mills bridge?

hey man what's your setup your using for fly fishing on the Harrison?
@fishandsticks80383 ай бұрын
I was using my floating line and a weighted fry/minnow pattern. At the time of this video there were quite a few cutties around searching for salmon fry.
@roccorizzo35755 ай бұрын
Could you share some the flies that were used. Looking to visit for my 50th looks amazing! TIA
@fishandsticks80383 ай бұрын
We were mainly using black ants, drakes, and caddis. The trout were extremely picky though so had to switch it up all the time.

very nice but quit handling them so much and keep em in the water !

These are simply gorgeous rivers. Are there local guides that could show a visiting fly fisherman (from Manitoba) some of these waters?
@fishandsticks8038 Жыл бұрын
Ya they are some of the nicest rivers I've seen! There are quite a few guide / fly shops around this area where you can rent a drift boat or get a guide. If you're heading into BC to fish those rivers (also very very nice) you'll have to make sure you get the proper license, as the out of province licenses get sold out pretty fast.
@seayak Жыл бұрын
@@fishandsticks8038 Thanks, much appreciated. Are out-of-province Alberta licenses in better supply then.
@fishandsticks8038 Жыл бұрын
In this region some of the BC rivers are deemed classified waters. So you'll have to get a classified waters license per day if you're a non resident. I think it was $20/day and the angling day you choose is booked in advance.....if you can get a spot. On the Alberta side you just need a one-time non resident license which is good for the year. I don't think they cap the number of anglers for these licenses.

Nice Video, how are you liking that Orvis Recon? Been meaning to upgrade, Recon is on my list.
@fishandsticks80382 жыл бұрын
The Recon is pretty awesome! Very very light and has quick action. I've used it about 10 times and durability seems to be good. The cork is one of the nicest too! I have a 5wt and I overweight with 6wt line. The only thing I wish it had was a hook keeper.
@hughwilson57592 жыл бұрын

@fishandsticks80382 жыл бұрын

hey fisher man of the year humanity means you have some understanding of the fact that you are 98.6 degrees the fish is 40.0 degrees that is a difference of 50 .o degrees how do think your fire like hand feels get some gloves genius
@fishandsticks80382 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the view! I'll try to keep my hands cooler next time.
@worldaccordingtoowen7174 Жыл бұрын
Gloves are significantly worse for the fish as it removes their slime coating, And this 50 degree difference in temperature you mentioned is the same difference in temperature as me and my bath water. not to mention the fact that humans INTERNAL body temp is 98.6 degrees which is significantly warmer than the temperature of the skin on your hands especially after being outside fishing

I really wanted to pick up a TFO Legacy this year, but they were back ordered! I have an older TFO rod that love. The Orvis Recon has been really good for a 5wt though too. I'm based out of Vancouver so mostly fishing lakes right now. I'll be back out on some rivers in the new year!
