Just wondering - Is this thing still running??
@airbalancer233 жыл бұрын
Yep, still running. I've replaced some gaskets and misc consumables over the years but otherwise it's been really reliable. I do clean it every year which is probably the biggest failure point on these. Now that I say that It will most likely die :)
@genecurrivan27993 жыл бұрын
@@airbalancer23 I've got a line on a used one for $500 with a new heat exchanger. I have limited information on it's maintenance history. No other company approaches 95% efficiency like the GB142 does. That said, Fan units are $375, heat exchangers run $900. Both fail with painful frequency. Also available is a used Weil McLain unit for 350 that claims 87%... gotta love cast iron and a simple burner.... Anyway, thanks for food for thought... And congrats on maintaining a true engineering wonder.

Do you have a parts list for this? I have the 1/2 motor with 1/2" bore and 2 roller grain mill with a bore smaller then 1/2"...so I need a little more help figuring out how this was done. Do you have a video for that or again parts list??? @airbalancer23

Can you draw up a wiring diagram for this? I'm confused how this is wired and I wanted to make something similar to yours. Thanks!

Where is your feed hopper... how will you solve burn back into hopper? Without a hopper its still a manual feed rocket stove.
@airbalancer236 жыл бұрын
No hopper needed, Im not out in the shop for very long so I needed something that starts quickly and goes out quickly as well. It will burn for 20 minutes with the hopper filled. Then I just add a cup of pellets every now and then. While there pellet in the tube it never burns back.

Yeah, that's how I felt, initially...but now not 5 years old and losing pressure...am I really going to have to manually fill it every few days? How can I get a diagnosis?

Sorry it's all 120 volt control wiring. Even the LED switch. I brought a neutral over from the panel and used one leg of the 220. That's why there are two small fuses on the front of the panel.
@messineo267 жыл бұрын
Sorry to keep bugging ya, your parts list shows a 120v relay...so I'm guessing your main switch is 120v not 24v? Where would the 24v power come from? I'm guessing you could split the 240v and send 120v leg to the main relay...Again, sorry to keep asking questions, I cant find a diagram, and I'm tying to wrap my head around this..
@messineo267 жыл бұрын
Is the LED switch from automation direct 24v working off the relay?
@airbalancer237 жыл бұрын
Yes, the switch turns the main relay on. It's wired in series with the door safety switch, so both need to be engaged.
@messineo267 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thanks..I was wondering if I could do that..any special relay needed?

I see an almost identical setup being an AWESOME dog water bowl! Put a foot operated large dump valve on the bottom to flush away the old water and the open the valve and refill it! Actually a dedicated outdoor toilet would also make a good dog waterer ....ESPECIALLY if it is set up with auto flush sensor on a timer so it flushes in clean water once per day or whatever! Reminds me there was a movie where a hit man lured a german sheperd into a bathroom and closed the door and then killed the owner when he came home...the dog died of thirst....but that bothered me because a big dog especially getting frantic for water would eventually knock the cover off the toilet tank and THEN could drink all he wanted too whenever because as the level went down the float valve with fill it right back up again...I mean eventually the dog could starve but I think now on account of thin hollow core bathroom doors would not stand up to days and days of clawing...and as soon as there was ANY opening to get jaws in the door's panel? Big dog would make quick work (I THINK) of chewing and pushing through a hollow core interior door...once in the home there are pantries to raid and windows to bust through...hunger produces desperation and actions not normally considered...even for a dog!
@airbalancer238 жыл бұрын
The SSR only breaks one leg on the 220 volt. The other relay breaks both legs making it safe.
@sergeantpyro61298 жыл бұрын
Why do you have two relais inside the electric box? Why don't you turn the elements on and off with the solid state relais?
@MikeAnnable8 жыл бұрын
Wait til it ages a bit. You will have nothing but problems. A minimum of 3 times a year I have to have a tech come out and fix something on it
