Well pointed out... everything that is. Don't boilers usually prefer to explode when dunked in cold water? Never let reality get in the way of a good plot.

Steam locomotives aren't just hunks of metal or alive, they're both they're iron beasts that you have to wrangle and wrestle for control during day-to-day use, hence why they were the biggest contribution to death rates before they were phased out

false rail gun is beast on its own. people never served knows shit. such gun could shoot armor piercing and high explosive shels which weight 5 tons. it doesnt need to be pricise shockwave and explosion will kill. military basicaly takes area ground and dig in control area, using terain or houses, hills. enemy will stop and fight if where was tiger tank americans simply ran away. shermans did same. watch band of brothers tiger scene it was from real events they say column of british and american tanks 10-12 tanks pack after tiger started shoot they roll beck even seeing tiger all got blown. biger is better. dont forget usa where not fighting real army of vermacht, lost 2500 in beach little more fighting. its considered a joke all usa army in ww2. as germans fighted real war 7 milion lost soldiers soviet union about 20 times more. usa fighted skirmish real war was in east. now rail gun if it would been deployed usa would surender in bostogne. simply such firepower after it lands leaves craters. modern art triple 7 shoots 40 kg shell and its hell where it lands. you may see how soldiers take hit, now rail gun can shoot 5 tons! high explosive and armor piercing even more weight. its 5000 kg! few shots comes for aim, but than direct hits. you will think asteroid landed. naval guns do same usa used on port in desert storm, single ship leveled places

55:00 If I felt the same as I do now, if that existed today, I might travel to NYC just to ride it. That thing looks amazing; the thought of being on the second level alone could draw me to the other side of the US. To think, there was a time when people knew we needed transportation like that. Knew that, if NYC could build a cable car system, the streets where cars move in feet per hour could look like any other stroad from Anysmalltown, US. The US used to exist because of the railroads (and colonization and genocide), used to only be connected by rail, even inside the cities themselves. Now Americans think their car being taken away is their ability to live being taken away, and they're just about entirely correct to think that, but they can't see that the car is the problem. 1:04:09 What I wouldn't give to have taken part in that move, to have seen such an amazing feat in person. It- 1:04:11 *OH* 1:18:06 For your consideration, for space trains without people that look like that (well maybe one or two characters with minor speaking roles in one episode), Galaxy Railways. It's only kind of not great! 1:26:52 On the one hand, you hate to see it, on the other hand, I love to see it, because if it's abandoned, that means I can load it on my pickup and take it home (and restore it to working order). 2:22:22 Def recommend The Turntable Song, as well as The Day We Ran Away, both by Dave Goulder

For those wondering why they can't see the stream chat, during the stream I made a joke about the recent plane crashes in the US and ended the stream by jokingly pointing a nerf gun at myself. I pride myself in making this channel and these streams a safe space or all and after some reflection, I realise these jokes were in poor taste and upsetting for some people. As such I have decided to edit them out of the video, and doing so disables the live chat feature. Going forward I will try to keep this in mind and try my best to ensure all my streams, no matter how insane and chaotic, are still fun and safe for all

I guess one advantage of pushing a tender is it moves the locomotive crew a bit further back in the train, which is safer for them if there’s a collision at a level crossing. Train crews who started on steam locomotives before transitioning to diesel would have been used to having the entire boiler and smoke box in front of them anyway. The Southern Railroad in the US ran their diesel hood units long hood forward for years for this reason, until manufacturers stopped offering the design, only selling short full-width noses.
