Your post is so welcomed and helpful to those of us who are serious listeners but not accomplished musicians. You confirmed my view of her as a seriously proficient violinist who is a few steps behind the Ray Chens of the world. I thought you were right in the ballpark with the tone of your comments -- laudatory but not gushing, critical here and there and careful not to oversell your views. As a fan, I celebrate her classical aspirations and am glad to see her taken seriously by folks like you. I also get to celebrate her pop side and take delight both in her busking and the remarkable friendship she has developed with Daniele Vitale. Add it all up and there is no one else quite like her.

I read the whole comments below and I want to give my own piece about the video. 1. It is not elitism. This video, if you are actually watch until the end and have the capability in understanding English, is giving her constructive and important pointers for her as an act of appreciation. All of the critiques are on point, and still commended her as great artist in her art. And they want the best for her for her future orchestral performance in the future. They believe she will be more matured by then, and hopefully still enjoy to create more music and enhance her own virtuosity along the way. 2. She is classically trained but later on choose to delve in pop musics more. There is no shame know that. She clearly enjoys both but happier with pop music. She is evidently capable, but do not discredit anyone who are in the classical industry and different type of music please. Be respectful and understanding. 3. Again for point 2, as a classic musician myself, we spend money, huge money on instruments and lessons and even more logistics things. As string player (I play violin, viola, cello) myself, let me give you some picture : The 'decent' perfomance-able or recital level instrument is around 1000-3000 USD for the cheapest variety, not to mention good bow and hairing. We can cheat for good rosin, but not those aforementioned above. We are trained with expensive tuition and sometimes even more private or exclusive masterclasses and camps, and those are more pricey depends on who taught those. And the mere skill and mental strength alone is different, we are required to be disciplined and dedicated. That is not easy matter. I have a brother who switch to pop, and he confessed that pop music is not easy either. There are loads of things going on behind the scene, mostly on productions. But it is still comparably chill than classical music. I am not saying we are better, but we are more intense in our discipline. And that is why sometimes we understand what to critique as constructive way, not to demean her. We critique her with our knowledge and years of study, it has basis on it. We are not simply making things up. It has theories and years of abrsm and others discipline as backing up. 4. AGAIN, as I suspect someone will not read or take point 3 in the bad way, I need to emphasize that SHE IS DOING GREAT IN HER PERFOMANCE, it is not an easy piece. And she obviously enjoy it. Just enjoy the performance guys. And let these two aspiring you tubers be. I know what it feels to be a fan, but this video is good for her. Don't be that fans who hold their own idol in pedestal, because the idol will not improve and better if you put them in higher praise they cannot see down below. It is like, in example, saying that Henry Lau is great classical violinist and genius, when he is in fact extremely talented KPop Idol and not classical musician specifically. He is great but not in soloist level these days. And it is not to discredit hisiolin playing, but the truth is he chooses KPop, and we have to understand that. They choose their own path, and it is what makes them great. And they are great. Remember that please.

Hey, I like your video, but if I might suggest, bc you seem interested in having your KZbin channel grow, that you do a bit more live talk, and make some fun transitions in the sense that you make funny faces, seem a bit sarcastic sometime, so it looks more like you're having fun. And your video composition could be a bit more organized. I mean, you should say at the beginning like an explosive intro, that you'll play the hardest piece at the end, and then come to that through the video, showing how you didn't upload that long (if you want to, and not for that long) and then how you found out that Sibelius (one of my favorite concertos) is that hard, and then a bit of practice, but still with a little bit more enthusiasm, and just a bit more attention keeping. You can try getting some stuff from TwoSetviolin, they are great guys with violin too, and their channel grew only because they are nice to watch in a sense that the viewers feel the connection as a friendly one, more close that through a voice going over the video. Maybe you should have even tried to "show the final result" in the end, by playing the concerto, if only a bit, but that it's from the start and so that it has at least a bit that you can like go through. And maybe sometimes get more memes in the video, to keep the attention, if you can't have different angles of camera. And maybe a bit of like side scenes, "struggling" and thinking of quiting, and you could have maybe did it in a bigger time frame, like 24hrs, not only one? Just some suggestions, I don't know how possible they are. I liked you video, it was nice, and I'm not an expert, since I don't have a KZbin channel myself, but some ideas to think about. I don't wish to be rude, disrespectful or in any way arrogant, I just had some suggestions I thought could come in handy. Continue making videos, I subscribed :) And Rey Chen? genius
@RubsViolinАй бұрын
Thanks so much for taking the time to write all of this. Yeah I have thought about how I could make this better, like cutting some things in the middle and making a montage thing at the end that shows bits of the concerto as a result. But I don't want to make the editing too intense and all over the place, cuz if everything is just moving all the time like those crazy retention editing guys it feels like their character loses authenticity. I like 2setviolin's editing a lot, it's quite chill and relaxing. But I also like some aspects of DaniDev's editing. So wanna try to kind of mix those styles

Today, the 24. March 2024 is day 801 without Daniel William Sooman uplauding a video on his main channel Dani. Sadly it doesn't look good for his second channel too, It has been 654 days without him uplauding a video on Dani2 and 1361 days from the KARLSON Trailer. His Music video [K A R L S O N V I B E] has 6.733.813 views and is 1432 days old. After his last video a ton of new games and trailers released, this includes the long awaited GTA IV trailer. These are not only numbers, this is only a portion of your live you spend on this planet. Live is wonderful and you are lucky enough to even step foot on it every day and every second, thats why you should feal blessed every time you wake up, every time you feel save, every time feel proud and every time you feel like you are on top of the world. Sadly, these memories won't last forever, but even a minute of admiring the beauty and love in this planet can make your day 1000 times better. Oh, and don't forget that it doesn't matter how many times you feel worthless, useless or like an absolute failure, you are beutyful the way you are. Have a good day/night :)

This should never be recorded or published. Orchestra is very out of tune, and I think you wasn't ready for this concert. It was clearly heard in that infamous octaves.... They all should train much much more fort this performance. When I was playing that concert in school I've train it for few months before I was ready to perform it. Especially since this piece have some quite treacherous moments and I am afraid you botched each of that moments.
