What phone mount are you using? Does it get too hot in the sun? Does it shut down due to heat.

I had the same bolt sheer on my SE just outside Chambery, France. The bike was taken Annecy the next morning. It also took about an hour to have the old thread removed, and a new bolt fitted. On another trip I got a bad puncture* (required a new tyre) in France on a Friday. Nowhere open until Tuesday. Stranded in a motel for three days of my trip☹️. These things happen. Especially to Trophy owners it seems🤪. It’s still a great bike though👍 *The pressure monitor gave a great early warning.

The scenery has become flat and heralds the near end of the tour, funny how the services always seem to be on the opposite side of the road, must be great to have someone like Toby on hand to help, relax now on the home straight, will be interesting to see Bastogne.

Yep had the same thing happen on my Trophy. Luckily i wasn’t too far from home and I managed to stick it into 3rd gear and ride home, with some careful traffic management. It was after the fact that a lot of people told me it was a known issue with the Trophy. Well it wasn’t known by me 🤨
@davidwaddington9414

I wonder if when the bike was dropped a few times it has contributed to this ? I do hope it was fixable, it's a dreadful feeling enough when it happens in England but for you being so far from home, this is when you are with some else the trouble seems halved, here's hoping.🤞

With the crash bars on the Trophy the gear lever and brake pedal do not make contact with the ground on a low speed drop. The bolt problem is a design issue with Triumph later changing the design.

The dreaded gear lever bolt issue. A very well known weak point on the bike. The same bolt is used for the brake pedal and these are known to fail. I carried 2 spares on my last trip. It would have still been a pain as the broken bolt would need drilled out. I'm guessing you didnt get sorted at the roadside unless that repair guy had not only a bolt extraction kit but also a replacement pivot bolt! Im also guessing you were right about recovery, that sure aint a bike recovery van! It doesn't sound good, and Im expecting the worse, nightmare for you!

Loving the tour videos. It’s what Saturday mornings and a coffee are made for. I did the same thing as you, on the same model bike! Put foot down on gravel and it slipped away resulting in the bike leaning to that point where you can just hold it, but nothing else. Eventually, after what seemed like an eternity, I had to give up and lay it down. Thank god for the newly fitted crash bars. This all took place on a busy A road in Cheshire, with cueing traffic, all watching me struggle to hold it, then roll about on the floor as it went down. After the initial expletives and stamping around like a spoilt brat, I got back on and chuckled to myself as I rode on thinking what a Pratt I must have looked like. Have now consigned the Trophy to just a picture on my phone and have gone over to the GS side. Keep up the great work on the videos.

Hi Blake. Any chance of us seeing some of those many many tour photos in a separate upload. I use Filmora Instant mode to create photo collages. You just chose a template , import up to 50 photos and Filmora A.I does the rest. I am old school and love looking through photos . Being able to create a dedicated photo reel as well as slotting a few photos into the travel vlogs is a beautiful asset and in my opinion much underused by the vlogging community. 💯🤓🙏🤳📸📸 DONT WE LOVE IDIOTS THAT DO 40MPH UP YOUR CHUFF. yOU LET THEM PASS AS touring etiquette requires and they proceed to do 40mph in front of you .. I call them lemmings. I am sure if you rode off a cliff they would follow you..

Very well done mate. I sympathised with you every single turn. Brought back memories of last year on my trophy up in the Alps. Those right turns especially uphill are butt clenchers. I done the Fluella and several other passes and I was drenched in sweat at the top of each. The trophy is a big top heavy lump, so easy to drop. Best to keep the revs up and a bit more speed in the corners even though it feels harder. Also keep your head up and look up the road at where you want to end up. It feels counter productive but works. The bike needs momentum to keep from falling over. Practice makes perfect, but I know exactly what you were experiencing😊
