Its truly amazing how back then, people created those inventions for solving grisly murders and crime. That takes guts. (no pun intended) Even though Ichabod Crane is a fictional character. We owe so much gratitude to people like him for saving lives.

The pause after the guy says his name is "Bill" followed by the little nod cracks me up every time. Charles Grodin was the absolute master at comic timing.

I didn’t really understand why they were testing legibility for currency the first couple of times I saw this movie but the more I watched it, I understood that they were pretending to be FBI detectives and in reality they were stealing money because Jon didn’t have enough money to buy food.

The brilliance of this scene is that moment where The Duke asks Jack ‘are you doing the litmus configuration?’ Almost to catch him out and to make him anxious.😬

One of the most underrated movies of all time. Certainly the funniest film of all time 🕰️ in my opinion. Love the emotional touch of two of them occasionally bonding and Jack sharing his vulnerability.

Out of all Johnny Depp's characters, Ichabod's hair is the hottest and the first character that I've ever loved. They don't make movies like Sleepy Hollow's aesthetics anymore 🥹

This film put me in a trance state when I saw it around 1976 when it first came out. Some of the themes: a person radically changing their behavior and the reaction of their entourage and the theme of soulmates and reincarnation I found very thought provoking.

Execution fell short, putting Ted with Greta. But, as the one hospital scene showed, Ted and Greta had more in common, while he and Montserrat could never really make it work. He could not see through his infatuation for her that she could not match his enthusiasm for the things that were important to him (his work, his attempts at moral conviction, etc). Worse was showing Fred suddenly in love with Montserrat, needing at least one more scene of them together for a plausible link. Stillman's vision for his movies is often bigger than what makes it onscreen, it's true, but it comes up so suddenly with so little follow-through. They may have a renegade streak in common, despite differing politics, but, to quote Fred to Ted, "you never confide in me, so I have to extrapolate."
