At this point in the episode it is sad since he essentially has to expose her frailties which she normally hides from the world thus returning her to the person she was before she became a Dominatrix. It's no secret that people in a position of power use it as a shield to hide their true selves. "You could have chosen any random number and walked out of here, but you didn't, because you had to make it something easily guessable so that the series could happen."

That "sorry about dinner" makes you wonder if the 'Ice Man' title was not more fitting for Sherlock.

I keep replaying this scene over and over. It's just pure genius, from the musical score to the cinematography and acting. The whole writing of this scene, and Benedict Cumberbatch's improve.

This is sherlock's equivalent of those moments the doctor has when he reveals his plans and just shut the opponent down

A number of people are stating that his pupils are dilated as well, but he was referring back to the moment in his apartment when he took her pulse. Her eyes dilated then. In the low light conditions of the present scene, everyone's eyes would be dilated.

I think a wonderful touch in this scene is Sherlock's eyes. They are very dilated, suggesting that he, too, was a victim of the "most dangerous disadvantage"
