How do you like this kayak? I'm debating between this one or Yukon (Teton) 116. I will be car topping it but I'm 6’3 225 so I don't think this will be a major issue but I am a bit concerned

I'm 236 and mine paddles good . On still water its a real pleasure to paddle and not bad with 5 to 7 but any more and it gets a bit wet . But thats with any kayak . It's a dream paddling downstream in a river bayou or big creek . It is a fishing kayak not a whitewater or ocean boat but good for both within reason , don't go out and get in trouble and say I said you could lol , use your head and you'll have a great day on the water . I have had mine two years and haven't found anything better for the money . Not a great car topper , is a bit heavy , but that extra plastic makes me more comfortable around the rocks and stumps . I love mine . I have a 2024 Outback and at 67 I can get it up there but it loads easier in my Dodge 1500 lol . I added a 8" inspection port in front works great for a little extra storage below .

@@kevinfikes1920 shocks not suspension components
@kevinfikes192010 ай бұрын
@@natalymurrieta2653 A shock is as much a component of the suspension as is the tires. The control arms, torsion bars, drop down brackets, traction bars, coilovers, remote reservoirs, leaf springs, blocks, air bags, bump stops, etc if I recall correctly. They all being components, culminate in what we call the "suspension". Perhaps "component" is not the word you are looking for? Since component means: part or element of a larger whole, especially a part of a machine or vehicle. Which shocks would thus fall under perfectly. The word and term "shock absorber" is a dead give away... suspensions are designed to reduce impacts, by absorbing them.

I’m probably going to install crpytonite components in my 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500hd and do fox 2.5 performance elites in it too, you recommend I do this to improve the offroad performance?
@T.D.F.Outdoors Жыл бұрын
You'll definitely have a better ride quality off road. Night and day difference. I just upgraded to a new set of fox 2.5 race series with reservoirs and from the 2.5 I had on the truck in this video to the new ones is even more of a upgrade

Just curious, why not follow the fish down the rocks? Is it an etiquette thing there where you’re supposed to stay in the same position while fighting a fish
@T.D.F.Outdoors Жыл бұрын
The rocks make it really hard to follow the fish being there so slippery so it's safer to try to hold ground and fight the fish that way

Westbound dropping tide in the fog, east of Train Bridge on the MMA side in Bourne in June is a recipe for some serious line sliders ! Better have the 60 lb fluoro carbon and 50 lb braid for that lady, and some even 5 oz eel look alikes from Canal Bait n’ Tackle!

Even a few pounds of added weight will change the balance of the counter balance system (springs) and they will break sooner or you fuck ur motor quicker. 5-10 pounds on a a already aged spring system that may weigh 10-25 pounds on the ground is definitely going to not open up sooner rather then later. But sweet idea. Lol Don't go over board people!
