Hello, We are 90% of the time home for our 1 macaw, So he is fine doing alone. We tried with other birds. didn't work out. Kiwi like to be alone with us. instead of sharing us.

My advise is do some courses with people who actually know what they are talking about. We did a couple of courses and went outside the first time with experienced people. We had to stop freeflight since he did not enjoyed it as much in his puberty years and only wanted to chill on our shoulder instead of flying around. and yes, freeflight comes with a lot of stress. We pulled the plug when Kiwi did not want to come with us when a bird of prey was flying around and we had a very hard time for him to listen.

@@Freeflying_kiwi yea thats literally my fear and the guys on KZbin who has Mikey the macaw whos a very large one had the same problem with theirs where Mikey stayed in a tree throughout the night when it Got scared of a Bird of prey. So despite being larger the fear is still there and illiger’s by Nature stay in trees for much more time than larger macaws who fly in the open much more. Its so sad cause id love to give him that. Ill be building a large outdoor cage in my yard this summer and Well its Nice to hear from someone more experienced with it as to me its also a moral question. Is it btw true that their eyes turn White before turning orange? My research says so so just making sure😅

Don't remove the catalyst or you'll end up tuning your bike. A slip on is better in my opinion. Rode the bike with a new end-silencer for a couple of years. Sounds awesome and no further tuning is required. Even with the DB-killer in it sounds awesome. After I changed the catalyst for this ridiculous system, the bike ran horrible and made WAY to much sound.

I have no experience with a Yellow Collared bird. So I am not sure. Illigers are cute and can be noisy but Kiwi behave very well. I Own one bird, and that is more than enough! We have our hands full on him.

@Kjoffy Ok.👍 Thank you for replying! I've heard some folks say two birds actually makes it a little easier on you and your bird, and less time consuming for you, as they entertain each other, preen each other, etc. I could also see two birds being a handful to tend to.🤷

They say it would be easier, I believe that too but only when you do it from the beginning. It also depends on the bird. Kiwi is Okay with other birds for 1 or 2 weeks. But since we raised him all this time alone. We noticed he prefers not to be with others

Hi, Kiwi is well behaved and does not scream a lot, if he screams it is his own name or some danger he saw outdoors. We had some other birds in our house as well for a couple of weeks due to a house movement of the owners. And then we had 2 other birds in our house and one of them was another illigers macaw. And he was kind of annoying, screamed a lot and had a very high voice and continiously annoying sounds every 15 seconds or so. (maybe he was bored?) So It all depends on how you raise the birds I guess. We are very lucky with Kiwi so silent and only screams with us, or when he sense danger or is just having a daily "I like to scream my name a lot" moment.
