The bible contradicts itself, is filled with historical errors and absolutely evil dictates. The only good in it, The 10 Commandments and Golden Rule was stolen from those "evil Pagans" you know, our real ancestors. The only reason Judaism has survived was because of Christian bible dupes.

@@upbestsalt1551, let me repeat myself to you, god intentionally wants us to suffer in life whether you like it or not. Or rather he wants us to enjoy pain, dwell on it, intensify it and embrace it. For those who’re living a prosperous life like I do, they will burn in hell because god hates a happy person. Once I’ve learned this truth, I stopped thanking god for anything good in my life. God personally and objectively hates these kinds of people, he is sick of us, he doesn’t find their joy cute or whatever, he verbally finishes those kinds of people through the scriptures of the Bible.

@@KevinKurzsartdisplay while he does wants us to take victory in hard times he never said he hates anyone who's happy. In fact he made us have the desire to enjoy his creations. Enjoy talking to fellow believers. Enjoying life. Now if the fun you are doing is sinful then don't do it, but there times where God wants us to rest. I'm sorry if someone told you that God hates you and I pray that you find the real truth about God for yourself. You don't have to agree with me but I do want you to seek Jesus Christ and accept him into your heart. May God bless you

Christianity, is about control through fear (by its own admission -- of its priests and ministers) and it does this by misrepresents God as a tyrant to be feared. Why believe in a lie? Jesus said that a kingdom divided against itself will fall. The wannabe tyrant Trump and his white racist base and their Christian evangelist churches, are dividing and weakening America from the inside.

Sorry to say, but Ecclesiastes 9:7 is being used out of context here. In brotherly Christian love, I advise you to go back through and read the whole chapter to understand the whole meaning. Solomon wasn't saying to Christians to eat, drink, and be merry. That message was for unbelievers, because their portion is here on Earth. He is saying to them, that since they only care about this one life, they might as well enjoy it while they have it, while they are still under the sun, because that is their portion, and they have no rewards in death.

Hey I'm a Christian. You may disagree with me but I believe the only way for you to go to hell is by not believing God or denying jesus as your personal savior
@myjoyinacross6626
@myjoyinacross6626 5 жыл бұрын
Hi brother. You are close, but I'll throw my 2 cents in. Someone can believe in God and still go to Hell. Even the demons know and believe in God, even moreso than us humans. They were once in His presence and they still fall. So to me belief in God is not enough for salvation. I also think that having Jesus Christ as your Savior is only part of salvation, but there is still a key component missing. Lordship. He needs to be our Savior, but He absolutely must be our Lord in order for us to be saved. Not everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Matthew 7:21). And anyone who loves Jesus keeps His commands. (John 14:15). I just wanted to clarify this and I hope this helps you on your walk with the Lord. In brotherly love, Simon

I'm very happy that it is a song sung in the Roman Catholic Church, but hymns often have a very long and beautifully convoluted history. And in this case, the Roman Catholics come in rather late to the history of this hymn. The words of the hymn come from the Liturgy of Saint James which originated with the Church in Jerusalem around 347. And so, it comes out of the Eastern Orthodox Christian tradition, not the Roman Catholic tradition. In 1864, the Greek text of the song was translated into English by an Anglican priest. The English composer, Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) paired the words with a French folk melody for the English Hymnal of 1906 (which was for the Church of England). I'm not sure when the Roman Catholic Church first introduced this hymn into their hymnal, but, as I said, they were latecomers.
