Excellent review! I finally saw this film after years of not watching it because I didn't care to see the unsimulated oral sex scene. I watched the film and kept pausing to write my thoughts. With about 15 left, I thought, "This is a good film. A bit self indulgent, but I like it." Then I was absolutely blown away by the plot twist at the end and my heart broke for Bud Clay. That was the most realistic portrayal of grieving love that I've ever seen. He has anger, jealousy, remorse and many other unpleasant emotions running through his veins. He's lonely, but he doesn't find happiness or even a real sense of company from other people. He can't sit still. He is always accompanied by his grief and loneliness. The Brown Bunny is a subtle masterpiece of grief and loneliness. It is unlike anything I've ever seen. The cinematography was much like that of John Cassavettes. I know Vincent Gallo hates that comparison, but it is in the same style. That doesn't mean he copied Cassavettes. Yes, the film is a bit self indulgent, but that's kind of the point. Bud Clay is a hurt, wounded man and he can't see past his heartbreak. I absolutely love The Brown Bunny! It is one of my favorite films, just as Buffalo '66 is. My heart breaks that we can't see Promises Written in Water. I'm sure it is another Vincent Gallo masterpiece.

One of the saddest, most depressing films I've ever seen. One of the best and most accurate portrayals of loneliness and the despair that comes along with it I've ever seen in cinema. The final scene which we all know about annoys me cuz it's the only thing people ever talk about when this film is mentioned. The rest of the film is completely forgotten. And that annoying scene as well is the only reason why so many people called this film "bad". A masterpiece I hope I never watch again.

I just bought catalyst prepare, just for batch/bulk stabalization for all clips, but its greyed out whenever I highlight more then 1 clip, I thought that was the point of upgrading from catalyst browse to prepare, am I missing something? Someone please help!!!!

Great event that day at weird in 2009 , I was there . They played fantastic.

What a tremendous tribute. I agree with everything you said. I saw it in Cannes all those years ago. You couldn’t take it all in because of all the noise the audience was making. When I saw it alone, I was mesmerized. It’s a beautiful & quiet piece of art. Vincent Gallo has never really been appreciated. But the man really is an artist. I wish there were more like him.

7 ******* hours wasted. After many YT videos, Kitbash forum, Reddit, Google, I arrived here and problem solved. However the assets are still super slow and bog down VRam like crazy.

I think there might be a slightly easier way, at least on a Mac. You have to make sure the textures are in a "Tex" folder inside the same directory as the project file, that's the key. Then after copying over the file path and pasting it into the "Filename:" section, you can leave the "With:" section blank and just hit Replace. That way you don't even have to look up path to the tex folder. As long as the textures are in the tex folder in same directory as the project file, C4D will know to look there. Works for me anyway. YMMV
