Senran Kagura is, by all accounts, a "coomer" game. But it also is, surprisingly, a really good beat em up. The PVP was slightly less balanced in EV after they nerfed just guarding to be a push back instead of a full on stun, but besides that it had an amazing PVP experience. So i have hopes that the new Bleach game will be an interesting arena fighter to say the least.

I truly wish I could be like everyone else. Bleach, one of my favorite anime, is finally getting a game and I feel no spec of joy because it's yet another arena fighter. Look I get it , putting anime characters against each other is dope but I'm sick of it. I'm tired of these amazing anime series being boiled down to an arena fighter. I want to live in these worlds, maybe or hopefully play along side other ppl. I'm tired of the only way I can interact with my fellow anime enjoyers in video games boils down to us choosing 2 characters (who might be lovers, best friends, or family) and make them fight each other. Arena fighters and vs games were fine to me on the past when consoles and the tech wasn't capable of much so having characters rock and sock each other was a simple solution, but now? They are capable of so much but still all anime get are bargain bin trash, idiotic trend ideas (br, fighters, and gacha), or wallet draining phone games. Anime is so diverse and covers so many subjects yet the games are for the most part, the same basic shit we been getting 3 consoles generations ago. No hate to you because this is a great vid and I suppose I hope the game does well so we hopefully get more bleach games but I just can't get hyped that bleach after not getting a real game on years is finally getting one and it's another bleeping arena fighter.

I think the staff is more important than the track record of the developers. To give an example, let's look at the anime. Bleach TYBW has a different staff than the OG anime, but it has some staff that are the same. The series director is different as you know, but the character designer is still Masashi Kudo, the composer is still Shiro Sagisu. The main changes are the art director and the color designer. In the OG anime, the art director was Sawako Takagi and the color designer was Hideo Kamitani. These two are responsible for the art style of the OG anime. In Bleach TYBW, the art director is Yoshio Tanioka and the color designer is Saori Goda. These two are responsible for the disco/neon look of Bleach TYBW. The scriptwriter is different as well. The script of the OG anime was written by many experienced writers in the industry. Bleach TYBW's script is written by newbies who haven't worked on a long-running series before. That's why there are pacing problems. But that's another topic. The point is that if the staff is the same as Tamsoft's previous games, then Rebirth of Souls would be of similar quality. But if there are some changes in the staff, like a different director or art director or physics guy or programmer, then it'll be a different game.

I do always find it somewhat hypocritical and stupid that people will pitch a shit fit over what is perceived as pervert fan service games like that somehow more worse than some of the most violent vile gorefest games that have actually made it into stores. To me I always think it's stupid to get offended over nudity and sex as long as it's not being done in a degenerate way I don't see the problem. It's just the human body who cares.

i never thought of it that way when it came to advertising, i watched most of my anime when i was little on VHS and DVD because my family owned a pawn shop but i distinctly remember ads for video games like kingdom hearts and what not only RARELY playing during the ad breaks of disney movies that are tied to that game on the disney channel and the like, like youd think theyd advertise such a big IP more but hearing your explanation on that makes so much more damn sense to me

Really great video covering Tamsoft and showcasing their talent. I only knew them for Senran Kagura and Captain Tsubasa, so it's nice to see their other work. Also Hinomaraku looks cool so I hope it's not dead already.

My biggest hopes for the new game is 1: actual cutscenes and not sideshows. And 2: well placed music for said cutscenes and combat. The combat itself could be mediocre, but I'd forgive it if they nail those two things at least.
