I bought the OM6 a year ago for a convention to shoot video and live vlog style interviews with the use of the Dji Bluetooth mic 2... but didn't buy the mic setup, partly because I wanted to test out the functionality of the gimble before investing another several hundred dollars... and boy am I glad I did! On top of the issues you've pointed out here, that other "reviews" clearly avoided (hmmm... wonder why?)... there are other issues with having to use the Mimo app to operate the device. Seems to me, most modern phones could do a lot with stability and other "cinematic" features as they become even more sophisticated over time, so why get a gImble... takes up more space, heavy, need bextra battery packs, etc? As for the flipping and flopping of the Ozmo, couldn't they offer a hardware update that gives you an option as to how the device will either stay in the correct position and not "flop" or spin around unless that's the desired effect... seems like it would be a simple enough fix? I'm unfortunately stuck with this device now, but ease of use is definitely not a strong point. Honestly strugging, like you demonstrate here very clearly... not great for cinematic "horizontal" shot videos... and then there's the camera lens choice issues... ugh. That convention is right since the corner... I'm thinking good old selfie stick with some cheap Bluetooth lav mics will dry, just fine! 🤷🤦

I want something to film parts of my jog/runs thats small and light. Right now i just use my iphone which doesn’t stabilize and my video are jumpy. I saw your pocket vs action video, And I do worry about the action overheating and i just want to film small part of my runs and film the beautiful statues and monuments in Washington DC where I run. it's a bit of a paradox, really. we bought these action cameras for their amazing stabilization, and yet 9 out of 10 action cam youtubers are saying it's better to induce motion blur at the cost of stabilization. of course in the end, it's up to us to decide which settings work best for the look that we want. personally i'll stick to auto (good stabilization) when i'm just hiking / walking - i have no need for motion blur when i'm moving slowly! i also use auto when recording driving, but it does get weird seeing no blur in the footage even while we're going at 40mph. i've been experimenting recently if i'll find some jitter acceptable, if it means getting some blur into my driving vids.

Have been troubleshooting a NEW m7 right out of the box since Saturday as I explained to Hohem through tech support this was a gift for my wife and it’s defective. It jerks in tilt mode, then flips the camera facing down and gets stuck, all 3 switches are unlocked, tried recalibrating. This was the suggestion by hohem tech. “Please try rotating it up and down for a week to restore it to its initial state.” After him having me send several videos for over an hour he then requires me to do a zoom meeting with another tech for an hour. Wow! Any suggestions how to get this thing to work properly?

Normal is so much better than D-Log. Look at @4:33 the sky has a lot of colors, you can see the definition of the clouds, while in D-Log everything is blowout.

If you set Video Compression to HEVC (H265) you get in Normal mode 10bit color depth. This is so confusing It looks like you don;t need a LUT in this mode.

@ 02:25 What tripod/Monopod are you using and is that top heavy? I have a good mini tripod for my OSMO but no way to extend upwards, unlike what I am seeing in this shot. Knowing you shoot professionally I would assume that that is a good accessory. Got a link? :D

I bought (in order) the DJI OM5, Zhiyun Smooth 5, Hohem MT2, Scorp mini 2, Hohem M6, and Hohem V3, Zhiyum M2S. I kept going back to the M6, even pushing the motors and using an elastic band to attach a GoPro10 and a Panasonic Lumix GM1 w/12-35 kit lens! I just ordered the Hohem M7. The M7 will likely replace everything except my Scorp Mini 2 and (maybe) Zhiyun M2s.

You need to learn how to operate this. gimbal before you starting ranting about everything that is wrong with it. I have this gimbal and I am not experiencing any of the difficulties that you have with it. In my opinion this gimbal works very well and I do most of my shooting in landscape format.

What gimble do you recommend for high quality, selfie videos... that you can use the "real lens" to record yourself?

i think about buying a gimbal but im not sure if the Hohem iSteady M6 is worth if what if i dont like it would you recomand somthing cheaper like the Hohem iSteady Mobile Plus or is it out datet?

Is it possible to control tracking from the app with Mt2 or only pan/tilt?

M6 lock broke on mine and now it does not want to unlock. I use a piece of thick paper to keep it open. Not a great design imho. I’m not a heavy user by any stretch of the imagination.

Now what's best? Hohem iSteady M7 or SCORP mini 2
