I guess if you intend to spend a lot of time on the toilet you should probably buy the Viko!😂 Seriously though on a boat this size, compromises need to made according to your design priorities. We also like some of the features of the Viko 21 and think it's a very cool boat, but overall we like ours better! Also to be fair, the direct comparison to the Cygnet 20 from Viko is the Viko 20, which is also a cool little boat, but no enclosed head. Anyhow, I hope you are enjoying whatever boat you're in!

@@bluewatercruisingyachts3283 🤣😂🤣😂 You're right it's a series of compromises, I guess sailing and food are so linked to me I just couldn't ever use a toilet that close to the burner. Great little boat though with loads of advantages over Viko.

I have an enclosed head but it's quite the off-center squat, and a low squat at that. This design centers things up nicely. Nice touch.

Hi Gary, Thanks for your comments. We are very proud of the aspects of the design you have mentioned, as a boat that is easy to set up and use will be used and enjoyed more often! For many reasons the Cygnet 20 does not have foam or other added buoyancy, but although we have tried, we are yet to make one sink!

Usually the prop on an inboard is in front of the rudder and it's 'wash' over the blade helps the rudder become effective at low speeds. This linked solution is really effective on F24 and F27 trimarans I've owned so I think most owners would appreciate it on this lovely little boat 😊

Hi Meredith, well spotted! This particular boat is fitted with the electric ePropulsion motor at the owners request instead of the standard petrol, and although i don't have exact details on range and speed capability i can say that it easily drives the boat up to hull speed, and one charge was sufficient for us to do a few good test sails around the lake with plenty of battery left over. We have used other electric motors as well and have found the eProp to be the most suitable for our purposes.

Hi Shane, yep you would have gone past us. We do still produce the Bluewater 420's, but we don't currently have one on the go in the factory. Too busy making Cygnets!

Hi Phil, thanks for checking us out! The unit you have spied on top of the icebox lid is a wireless throttle controller for the electric outboard motor which is fitted to this particular boat. We did not mention it here as it is not the standard motor, but it is becoming more popular. I agree the old outboard well design did look very nice, but was too compromised in most practical ways for us to stick with it. The biggest advantage of the current design is the hugely increased motoring performance, especially while maneuvering at low speed (and it gives us room for more cold lemonade). Happy sailing!
