Sounds a bit like projection from Dave though. Someone had obviously accused *_him_* of doing it...and he hears about it and is kind of outraged...and so he projects it onto someone a] English and b] current - as you do when you're feeling insecure and over-the-hill. I don't recall Jack Daniels being a major feature at Clash gigs anyhow. Mick Jones probably indulged, I know he liked his _C17H21NO4_ on tour and was somewhat of a Keef admirer on the quiet, but I sincerely doubt he would've preferred iced tea onstage after a gram of charlie. Silly old Dave, he'll never change and he'll never have anything interesting to say.

Has to be a creative choice but an odd one. Very distracting. Sliding and hammering when should be picking. But they rock nonetheless!
