Hi...what's your taking on the door locking mechanism..i took the same model for a test drive..I.pressed the lock & and unlock button on the drivers door,it sounded like an Ak47,not sure if that horrendous sound was normal..the sales man couldn't advise me.?
@JustinOnCars

Hi, thanks a Mil for the comment. That definitely does not sound normal. One I drove was solid and did not have that issue. Maybe just a faulty door lock if you ask me.

Good review mate. Have booked mine a few days back should get delivery in early Jan. BTW just curious to know why are these cars so expensive in SA? I’m paying NZD 46,000 for the top end AWD which is sold as inferno in SA. I understand the price for the Inferno model in SA is 680,000 rand which equates to NZD 65,000. Now compare that to NZD 46,000 that I’m paying in NZ for the same model.

Aahh thanks man really appreciate it a lot. Merry Xmas. Everything here in SA is just expensive car wise though. And it also gets imporred to you guys so i do not know, most probably our import taxes, our Government loves Money hahaha

Man! I want one…but the 30e! Got to have a tiny taste of the electric power the other day and it’s amazing. The ride quality improvements from the G01 to this is huge, it feels as big as the difference was from the X3 to the X5! Apart from the door handles not being the nice heavy aluminium feel, i can live with the rest of the budget cuts. Still amazing value for money in my opinion.
@JustinOnCars
@JustinOnCars 7 күн бұрын
That is very true hey. Like the G01 is amazing already but this feels like a 5 hey?? I 100% agree it is still a phenomenal vehicle nothing wrong with this X3 i can also Love with the budget cuts because the money went else where..

Just for the sake of being objective, what these cars miss is: - good consumption (the 1.6 petrol will consume surprisigly much, real world average is 12-15l/100km) - the possibility to configure the car (at least where I live, you can't configure them at all. You take what you get) - more engine options - long-term experience with maintenance

This is gorgeous, I am waiting for mine to be delivered as we speak! Not much to complain about but I do feel Nissan South Africa played us short with the 360° camera. The ST-X and Calibre (Aussie and Thai versions) get the cameras and the dash setup. That should be standard on any of their 4x4 range. ST-X Also gets drive mode select. Also, what the heck happened to the in dash cup-holders?? Calibre still has tray and 12v socket as well as cupholders on dash. That's robbery! Adaptive cruise control isn't even available on pro4x either. Other than that, zero complaints.

@@LyraqzX I know it doesn't use cvt. But my car had the cvt failure and Nissan's attitude once the failure happened was terrible. They don't have spares for repair, and cannot even consider the complaint as a manufacturing defect. Slammed me with a bill more than the value of the car. I had to scrap the car. So, it speaks a lot about the brand. Even if it doesn't have CVT. I'm scared to buy a product ever again from Nissan.

Polarising looks, smooth (quiet) but punchy ride. LED lights on grill are kinda cool though. Sun roof was a shocker, and disappointed with the steps you have to go through to change driving modes. Jeez Louise :). Went for a test drive and my excitement levels were lesser than when I tested the first iteration G01. It could be stuck on G01, but this "is not make sure". Great review though!

Yes indeed quiet but punchy ride that is spot on. Also Love that led loght on the grill cannot wait to see it at night. Sunroof really killed me I love a sunroof haha dont ever really use it but love to have it. Jeez Louise I tell you hahaha dont know where I caught in to that phrase . I kind of feel that I Love the G01 nore still I am very much stuck on the G01 like the shape the drive I don't know the G01 is exciting to drive. Great review, thanks Justin! It's growing on me. I still prefer the new 5 series sedan, which would cost around the same. Especially if you look at the (minor) quality issues you highlighted in the review. As there are much critique from the general public about the perceived lack on quality on the doors, I assume BMW would probably look into that at its first LCI.

You should have asked VW why the TDi is only available with 4x4. With only 110kW they're negating both the performance and economy advantage. It's stupid as in the UK this same TDi engine is available with front-wheel drive, which makes the most sense. Also a pity we don't see you drive it.

@JustinOnCars actually no, the Kia Sportage and BMW X1 diesels are only FWD and roughly have the same power. These are the cars that it's competing against. The more expensive Merc GLA diesel is also FWD.
