My SXL doesn't suck. It draws. 😊 I leave all of my wings nuts threaded onto the legs except for the top nuts, which live in a zip-lock freezer bag. You can also use shower curtain hooks or (I imagine) a blanket pin. For a small zippered pouch, you can cut a zippered pocket out of a worn-out pair of pants, too. P.s. I bought some hex nuts which I locked against the stove bottom wing nuts, so I don't have to adjust the nuts for a proper assembly for every set up.

Been wearing wool for years. All seasons. The best , mostly merino , but heavier stuff is filson. Great hunting, since it's quiet

I wish the cloths were 100% wool, polyester is linked to many adverse health effects including cancer.

Even the powder hoodie is 50% wool, 20% poly and 30% acrylic. The Duckworth guy briefly mentioned they use blends. 100% wool doesn't hold up very well.

Epic hunt guys. Best hunt films there are right now by a long shot. That grizz grabbing the meat is a pucker moment. Surprised you guys didnt break up and keep someone at the kill site and the pickup site to keep the meat guarded.

I struggle big time with my feet and lower half with sweat myself I have to wear the thinnest socks then when I get to my spot and let them cool then add another layer I might a pair of heated socks so far not bad and this is for whitetail tree stand hunting late season in northern Michigan.

Big fan of Duckworth. Have powder hoodie in two colors and wear them constantly here in White Mtns of NH. Just ordered the Woolcloud jacket as well. Great episode.

Curious to see what you think of the woolcloud. I owned one and returned it because i thought the face fabric would be too noisy for bow hunting compared to the kuiu kenai

Love my powder hoodie so does the girlfriend and we have 3 pairs of their socks. Love them. Thanks for doing this podcast. Duckworth needs some exposure let’s help them. LETS GO

I watched the post hunt section: I didn't realize Cal took a 560yd shot. Whoa! Great shot X2 Cal! I think I noticed you dry fired when you 1st set up. Great job! Climbing 1600 ft is serious. Especially, within a mile. Sounds like our elk country so I know what that feels like. You guys however, seem to recover fast based on you all's breathing. As usual, your videography is 2nd to none and inspirational. I don’t have hunting brothers like you guys.so its easy to get lazy especially at my age, 65.

I’ve got a Joseph A Bank merino sweater that I’ve worn for 10 seasons at least. It lived a life as a dress piece for a few years before that. I have considered having to replace it. The powder hoody may be the solution.

Duckworth's Merino wool products are a welcome improvement. Everyone in my family wore Woolrich or Filson Mackinaw jackets and wool pants while hunting or logging for generations. My introduction to Merino wool was wearing Darn Tough socks. It wears like iron and is extremely comfortable. These products are definitely worth the investment.

I've commented on your podcasasts before. I'll be 68 in May. I went on a DIY archery elk hunt this last Sept in the Rio Grande national forest in Colorado. (Epic exp. humbling, but epic!) I trained for over 3 months. In doing so, I started the carnivore diet. Not that difficult, as I love consuming flesh ahyhow. In the process I lost 40# ( from 220# t0 180#). My LDL lowered, as well as my glucose levels, to my suprise, my testosterone numbers went up over 200 points. I do toss in some onions as well as jalapenos, and modifying Brad's ice cream recipe, I use a splash of maple syrup. I am down to 172#, and staying there, neither eating more or less. Maybe not as much training as before my hunt, but still getting in a couple miles in every morning. I feel as good as a dude my age can, and spend much of my idle time scratching funds and logistics together for my next hunt!

I'm glad wool continues to earn respect going into the future. I'm Gen X, my grandma knitted wool back in the day. Many companies have come and gone with wool offerings, and I'm still collecting wool gear. Don't STOP!

Would love one day to see a powder hoody that has a rough material integrated on the shoulders like those old school military sweaters for the purpose of having a little bit more friction on the straps of your pack and so a little less wear and tear on the shoulder area.
@scottladds75744 күн бұрын
Cool podcast, I have been buying there stuff for years and have had the powder hoody’s for quite some time, daily use, working outside in Alberta in the winter and hunting in -40s and nothing beats them. Powder hoody’s under a down jacket good to go no matter how cold. Awesome to see the reasoning and content on why their stuff is so good.
