Hi David...great video! Question: There are 2 different Leo Vince LV Series exhausts for the 2024 MT09. What PN exhaust did you test and tune? There is PN14371EBU which is Euro 5. And there is PN14452EBU which is Euro 5+. The Euro 5+ has a lower rated db...so I assume it has more baffles and less flow. Do you have the PN? Much appreciated!

Awesome content! I've had the deposit down on an R9. I'm going to make it as track oriented as possible. I'm curious based on your experience, what would be the best performance-oriented exhaust for this sweet CP3 engine? I think I'll get the exhaust with your ECU flash all together, maybe with a DNA filter too. I've heard filters like these might end up damaging the engine because it allows more unwanted particles and debris to pass, which I'm not sure whether is a myth or not.
@vcyclenut7 күн бұрын
I would wait and see what comes out specifically for the r9. I know there is going to be some different ones than we have now for the mt09 any filter that lets more air in is going to let more dirt particles in. no way around it. I have sprint filters on all of my bikes and have never had an issue just depends on your priorities, I know people with aftermarket filters with a ton of miles on their bikes with no issues

Thx. 1. Why do you think Yamaha is setting maps in this way? Emission limits, huge gas consumption vs performance gain? There should be some logic. 2. There are several levels of engine braking in bike's menu. Here it looked all the same. Am I wrong, or is it set somewhere else?
@vcyclenut9 күн бұрын
Please be specific on what maps your speaking about There may be more maps that woolich will need to give access to. As I said in the video it’s common on new ecu’s to work with woolich to tweak what we have access to. I’ll be able to speak more to that once I start testing with the actual bike.

@@vcyclenut ok, I've made an assumption that @19:37 ETV Deceleration is the table which would Yamaha's engine brake control menu option use to set amount of the engine braking. However four maps which you showed looks same. So it is probably not the case.

@vcyclenut18 күн бұрын

@exothermal.sprocket18 күн бұрын
Two stroke and four stroke engines' exhaust systems function exactly the same way, but the engines have different needs. You can "tune" a four stroke just like a two stroke for the exact same reasons, but you're now dealing with mechanical timing principles related to poppet valves and cam lobes. If it weren't for the emissions regs, four strokes have a lot of potential left untapped. Cost is the biggest things with them, as adding a VVT system to broaden efficiency usually extends the cost of a given engine (non-superbike) beyond the market value of the category.
