You forgot the step where you drop the nut and it disappears into another space dimension only to reveal itself 3 years later when you are cleaning the garage. Other than that, nice video. Thanks

For the life of me I can not get my axle out. I’ve changed a dozen Mc tires, but I can’t get this axle to budge. I loosened that pinch bolt as well.

Good video, well made and informative. I do have 2 points: first, he is wearing proper footwear. It amazes me how many folks work on cars, motorcycles, and scooters wearing shower shoes, crocks, or sandals. Second, like him, I do most of my work sitting on the floor. Thanks for sharing.

What causes the throttle to “stick” or not “snap back” is, they are pushed forward too tight against the switch housing.
@larrywilson7933
@larrywilson7933 Ай бұрын
That’s what does it! If you push it too tight against the housing, it’ll stick. (ask me how I learned that lol)

What did he do that was incorrect, in your opinion? The only thing wrong that I could imagine is not applying torque specs, but for what he was doing they weren't all that critical.

Make sure you also remove the main nut and run a screw driver for leverage on the other side and everything should slide out with spacers may need to wiggle the tire

@@javierreyes9940 thanks for getting back to me, sounds harsh but I smacked it with timber and a mallet and she slowly came out. Not enough anti sieze from factory judging by the crud on the axle. Thanks mate

@@easternrc1924 Im gonna spray mine with some white lithium grease, did you mount and balance yourself?
@easternrc1924
@easternrc1924 Ай бұрын
@@javierreyes9940 yeah that would work, I used a little anti seize myself but I think slopping grease on is the better way to go. I'll do that for the front where I had this main issue in my OP. Still waiting on my forks so I can mount the front wheel, I mounted the rear wheel, went to a 180/55/17 to fatten her up a bit. Until bike is back on the ground, I can't do it all up and align it, but I will

The dealership said you needed some kind of alignment kit to change the tires hmm not so sure about that now thought it was bs but real question is how do you change out the wheel barrings

I got a 2011 dyna with a weird rear wheel issue. The center line of the tire is not even with the center line of fender. Tire center line is to the right of the fender center, all spacers inplace, it's spoked what could cause this issue

Awsome M8. 9:16. I thought I put the spacer/collar in backwards. But as you show there is only on way to fit it. Stick the throat out from behind the cushdrive. Then the black spacer goes on top from outside.

Excellent video and thanks for doing what you do. My 12 point bolts on the front caliper are frozen and now stripped. (thank you Austin HD dealer for over torquing when they replaced the tire...) Can I remove the wheel without removing the caliper? My plan is to remove the wheel, drill the end off the 12 point and remove the caliper off the fork and hopefully get the bolt out. I've tried Bp blaster overnight, and also heating with torch. Heated for anywhere from 15 seconds to 2 minutes. MF will not move. Any assistance would be appreciated. My next step was going to be welding a nut on the end of that bolt. Or using an easyout. Easy out scares me in case it breaks off.

If you shim the rear tire and take the weight off the axle, the axle will slide right out. If you get the wheel canted, then you'll have trouble.
