If I were the Erin’s this is how I would do this arc: (putting this out here saying this because the series is likely already plotted out and what I will say won’t change it.) Leafstar- She is going to go and try to step down as leader, and StarClan will refuse. From here we will take a character like Billystorm come to her and tell her that while she needs to swallow her pride she is doing it the wrong way. That her time for leadership is not done, but that she needs to lean on her clanmates more, as well as offer her the advise to seek out others for advise on how to help her with loosing her vision. (Aka: Making Warrior Cats start dealing with ablism.) As she goes more and more blind, she finds herself relaying on her clanmates but finding the strength she was missing. She will lead the way to their new home, but will be a foil to Tallstar and pass away right when arriving at the new territory. Tawnypelt- She will begin sneaking off to WindClan, not to specifically join it with Crowfeather, but to seek validation from him. Especially when it comes to Tigerstar being disrespectful of her despite his position being completely because of her selflessness. They begin to get closer, but nothing romantic to Crowfeather, but romantic for Tawnypelt. Crowfeather would turn her down saying that romance just isn’t for him, making him a cannon Demisexual cat or on the aro spectrum. As for Moonpaw, there are so many ways to do her story well that I won’t expand on her here. I honestly wanted to focus on the other 2. As for the clans as a whole: I could see WindClan and even ShadowClan refusing to leave the Lake territories, and a small group of each of their clanmates travel foreward to the new territories forming new clans of their own. This would be interesting because then we would finally have something interesting going on in WindClan and the tension between Tiger(heart)star and Tawny(star in this concept) would build up to something drastic. These are just my thoughts though! Hopefully it amused someone!

What if Birchfeather was gay, it would be a much more interesting story line since it would be so strange for the clans and twogerstar and dovewing definitely took their kids to Sunday school and I can see grandma tawnypelt being super supportive since her husband was trans (ignore biology please) I like Leafstar just stepping down at the gathering but I do wish one of the leaders said it should be in the hands of the clan and abolishing the imput from the other leaders I think shadowsight should have pulled moonpaw from the moonpool just to get interaction and for him to maybe gain suspecting that she sees something in the water as she swats at the reflection These are 1 thing from each perspective I'd change

About Leafstar “surviving” no medical attention for 3 days; I think it may have been the event where she loses whatever remains of her 9 lives. She reassured hawkwing that she had more than one left earlier in the book. I think the purpose of this event was her losing those extra lives, however many there were, with no witnesses. This way Leafstar, Skyclan, and the readers are all in the dark about how many times she can die, during a time when we soon will probably lose access to the moonpool (the place where her remaining lives, if she had any, would otherwise be transferred to Hawkwing)

Well, Fidgetflake went to help the med cats in RiverClan for a bit last arc and tattled to Tigerstar that Mothwing did have catmint, meaning the journey was for nothing and Rowankit might’ve not died. So he was kinda the whole reason for the plot that book, plus why Tigerstar invaded RiverClan at all, taking over. Don’t give my boy a bad rap he’s actually done a lot lol 😂

When I read through The Broken Code, I found it odd that Bristlefrost's parents were so less prominent than the other two protagonists'. Even Violetshine didn't do much, but at least she was in a lot of Rootspring's scenes.

One thing I’ll say is, revealing her as a chimaera kinda spoiled the mystery of who the voice is (I mean, it’s still debatably a mystery), I was consistently going “it’s gonna be her dead sister” (tbf, it ended up being a different dead sister, but still). Ik that through the description it’s obvious she’s a chimaera, but idk… I’d have liked a bit more room for speculation

You make great points. Though, you have to think about his injuries. Tigerstar could have (when he attacked in the several time that he did), hit major blood vessels. Now you also have to think about Firestar’s fluid and smooth movement. After their battle, Firestar may have fought against the pain as he has MANY time before and completely ignored it. Firestar could have also had an internal injury, and or bleeding. Firestar had been running with much energy, no doubt. Therefor, he could have REopened wounds from before, with Tigerstar. There was no tending to his wounds, and nothing started about his bleeding being stopped. Yes, he very well could have died of blood loss, but there’s also a chance that Tigerstar did in fact hit major arteries. In Erin’s EARLIER physical description of Tigerstar, it is listed that he had, quote unquote, “big dark brown tabby with UNUSUALLY LONG FRONT CLAWS”. Now, evaluate this. When Tigerstar (more or so), dealed an extremely damaging blow to Firestar’s shoulder and spinal cord, he could have inflicted an almost fatal wound due to how long his claws are and how deep the blow went. It has been proven that spinal cord injuries can fully paralyze any moving organism’s anatomy, this wasn’t the case for Firestar. Instead he was EXTREMELY wounded, and his strong, muscular movements were too much for his anatomy. There are many openings for what this wound may have inflicted eternally, but there’s also most plausible explanation is that his sharp movements were too much for his body. Which of course later led to his death due to his lack of physical care or tending, if that could even have helped his situation in relief at all. There’s also the chance that the smoke did in fact kill him. Your points in the lack of him burning and being crushed by the tree, I agree with. His short exposure to the smoke is also plausible. Except, you have to think about a few things. When (at the time Firestar was Fireheart,) he had a very long exposure to smoke in the forest fire that had originally occurred. The one with Yellowfang’s death. Therefore, that may have led to a problem that was not felt with his nerves. There was also the fact that there was humid smoke in his chest. This creates a horrible breathing environment, and may have dealt more damage to his lungs than the originally occurred fire did. Not to mention, that damage was added to his lungs. The humid smoke in his chest could have clogged airways, which would have caused choking for lack of air. Smoke sort of ‘clumps’ when it is consumed in a humid state. Concluding, any arguments?

My personal thoughts on this book, With Leafstar's chapters, i didn't like the fact that she was practically being bullied out of her position, Don't get me wrong. Leaf did make mistakes in the book, but those mistakes are on the same level as mistakes that the other leaders have made. My guess is for the second book, Starclan is most likely going to refuse to take away her lives. Her talk with Echosong, Echosong did say not to let them make you step down or well on similar lines. Which means Starclan has plans for Leaf to remain in the leader position. With Moonpaw, With her her sister stalking her. It Doesn't make since why Voicekit (Fandom name), Why she is staying in the living world, like what is the actual reason for her to be there, since she died prematurely. And another thing it doesn't make sense that she would be a rather evil spirit vibes there. I feel like most of Moonpaws chapters is either her constantly lying, or her eventually getting tooken over by a kits spirit. I don't really have much thoughts on Tawnypelts perspective. Hers gave me the New Prophecy vibes.

Really glad to see that Hawkkz is back! My conspiracy theory that hasn't been mentioned in this podcast as far as I've listened to it is I think Leafstar's dreams of the gorge are not that they're going back there, but that the new territory they find will have something similar to the gorge. Right now, SkyClan's territory is an amalgamation of ThunderClan and ShadowClan's-- it's not very distinct (not that Dawn of the Clan's area for them was either) but if they find a gorge/canyon like area for them in the new territories I think that would be a great way to set them apart from the other clans and give them their own identity back, since they lost so much of that when moving to the lake.
